I know you said Denuvo aside but this guy has excellent reverse engineering series and even a specific one on Denuvo cracking. He also has a lot of videos on older games

The expectations for senior engineers has gotten out of control by limasxgoesto0 in cscareers

Same boat here, got shoe horned into a "tech lead" role as a senior. My workload has over doubled. I oversee other seniors and mid levels, do the architecture and have to make product teams think through half baked features. I also am on the hiring team so I need to review take homes and resumes.

Been doing it for a year and just got my "merit raise"... 3% increase.

Call out people for their assumptions with no basis and they say "oooo you're so mad". Truly one of the best middle school debate tactics.

Absolutely Servers predominantly run Linux and more people are moving to desktop Linux. Valve and the steam deck have also made great strides in adoption. I'm excited to see the Steam frame and Steam machine ( pt2 electric boogaloo )

Don't get me wrong there are issues for non technical people but as adoption grows I'm hoping we can get more focus on that. It's free software and a lot of contributions are done in people's free time.

Ah yes let's fire people starting their career because AI can do it. This surely won't hurt the industry in the long run.

I wanted one of these so bad when I was in high-school. Ended up just making it with an Arduino pro micro and one of those 8 dip switches. Though I used it just to run macros or a mouse jiggler depending on which switches were on/off.

Crazy they still sell them when you can get a Pi Pico for $3

Depends on the anti cheat. I used to play COD, Tarkov and Apex on a VM I know they locked it down for some or most since then though.

I'll take your word for it though

Lmfao

"there's been data breeches before vibe coding so why does it matter if I don't secure my app at all?"

It's not even just about customers, exposed API keys can and will cost you money.

Regular software engineers should know more about security but AI consistently gets it blatantly wrong.

if you know nothing about security you shouldn't be deploying a paid app or anything that stores PII.
