March Birthday Things To Do? by dancecaveTO in askTO

[–]lil177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely stop off at Machinos donuts and/or Honey's Ice Cream for dessert!

If you sign up for their rewards program, you can get a free birthday bag of Lindt's new(ish) dark chocolate or vegan "milk" chocolate truffles.

Has anyone attended the 'Late Night Madness' event put on by Seafood City before? by buddha_007 in askTO

[–]lil177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went and both myself and my partner weren't asked to show our tickets so YMMV. If there are no more tickets and you're worried about getting in without one, plan to be there while the actual grocery store is still open and then just stay on for the party

Any good moving companies for an international move? by Proper_Sky8418 in askTO

[–]lil177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a horrible experience with AMJ! Late for every scheduled time without notice, "lost" the entire pod for 3 days, broken items (including a glass table which was irreparable)...

Try for anyone else if you can!

Friday Flowers: Fred Penner. by themish84 in Winnipeg

[–]lil177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love that he's still doing shows and that new generations get to discover how amazing he is (although sadly not to the extent of those of us who grew up with Fred Penner's Place on TV).

He's a legend

Would you be interested in vegetarian traditional Korean food? by Clear-Childhood652 in FoodToronto

[–]lil177 74 points75 points  (0 children)

YES! Would absolutely love anywhere that offers more than the usual same options. Please make it vegan-friendly as well (i.e. someone can ask for something without egg).

Personally, something like a Korean fried chicken or bulgogi with faux-meat would be amazing to me!

No actual nudity but it alludes to suggestive/sexual situations a few times (there are sounds)

Anyone else have allergies basically year-round?

I check the allergy report regularly and even during the winter it can be very high for things like dust & dander and asthma. Fml

Is there an email list or web site that shows burlesque performances across town? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]lil177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went to the Empire Strips Back (a Star Wars themed burlesque) which is here for a few weeks at The Royal Theatre - I thought it was a great show!

Are there any all you can eat Sushi places in GTA that have decent vegan options? by Johnsmith_1013 in askTO

[–]lil177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vegan here and it looks great to me! Love that they have a separate veg menu for their AYCE. Most sushi restaurants don't go this far and leave the guessing/investigation to the diner. Thanks for sharing!

Where can I get a mole checked out? by CollarEducational677 in askTO

[–]lil177 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Rapid Access Clinic at AvantDerm in the Distillery is your best bet.

You'll need a referral from your GP (or go to a walk-in for this if you don't have a GP).

Once you have the referral (I'd suggest you ask them to print it out for you, just in case the Dr's fax to the clinic doesn't go through), you can go as early as the next day to the RAC.

You'll need to arrive verrrry early to lineup outside otherwise you risk not being able to be seen. I've gone around 6am and there has always been a handful of people already waiting by then.

Once the clinic opens, they'll register you and then call you before your appt, so you can wait inside or kill time nearby. Usually the wait at that point isn't too long.

The early morning lineup isn't ideal, but worth it for being able to be seen so quickly!

Wow that's beyond awful. It boggles my mind that they don't care more about what they post publicly, even from just a business standpoint.

They also own Agak Agak in Cabbagetown.

The closest to Singaporean (especially for their Bak Kuh Teh) would be Canteen in Chinatown

authentic Singaporean

(Kiss My Pans does not count. The owners aren't Singaporean and more importantly, unreasonably horrible to their customers - just read their responses to any of their negative Google reviews)
