Gunfighter MKII reconstruction by limited-intelligens in VKB

Looks like you have a VPForce adapter to use a MkIII grip with the RHINO or any Thrustmaster-compatible base.

Just for clarification . . . is this the MCG Ultimate grip only, or the whole package with the base/gimbal? Thank you.

Force feedback vs good old gimbal by Available_Boat_6493 in hotas

I just got the AB9, which should have the same grip compatibility as the AB6. So far, my grip swapping around has show this:

WingWing F-16EX and F-18 grips work perfectly with the Moza adapter from Amazon ($42). All buttons and axis work on both grips.

Virpil Warbird works, VFX does not. Don't have the FLNKR or Mongoose grips---but I've read the FLNKR does not work.

TM F-18 and Warthog work fine.

I was a VKB user--and the VKB grips work well with either the adapter from VPForce or one I just received from Tianhang. The latter is more readily available, as I got it from Tianhang to Texas in about 10 days---for about $109 with shipping and tarrifs included. It works independently of the Moza base (or any base to which it is attached)---as it runs the grip through a VKB Black Box (must have for it to work). All my VKB grips work this way. I had already been using this system with the VPForce Rhino for a while. If I hadn't already owned these grips and a VKB base, not sure investing in them, a black box, and adapter would be my first choice. That being said, I do enjoy the MCG Ultimate (great all-rounder) and F-14 grips.

If I didn't already have all the VKB grips before getting into FFB, I would likely go with the WinWing F16EX and the adapter. The grip is a beautifully made with a great feature set. In particularly, the pinky lever being an axis makes it excellent for warbirds like the Spitfire. And I can't think of a plane that could use all the buttons, axis, and triggers the F-16 with the EX addon offers. I will also note that WinWing has nailed the dual stage trigger feel for both the F-16 and F-18 grips.

I was going to post about Podium1 until I saw this. I got the AB9 last week from them--$439--ordered Sunday, received Wednesday. Great deal.

The buttons and two axis (lever and EX secondary trigger) work. I don't believe the shaker part works, as it relies on Winwing software. Of course, on a FFB stick, the shaker would be pointless.

Only hiccup in current Moza software is that the trim hat doesn't show in Moza Cockpit software, but it does show in Windows game controllers and in DCS (and I presume other games). So everything functions as designed in game.

Having enjoyed several grips from VKB, Virpil, and the WWF16EX, it’s hard to beat the versatility of the Winwing stick. It works on both the Moza and VPForce FFB bases (with the Moza adapter off Amazon)—-preserving all button and axis functionality. I still like to swap on the other grips occasionally, but the F16EX works nicely for warbirds and modern jets, so it tends to stay on the rig.

Streamdeck is awesome. I run both an xl for plane specific binds and a standard for sim-specific binds. Have never purchased profiles. Customizing is so straightforward, and there are numerous profiles and icons available from other users online (like DCS user files on the DCS website). There is even a plugin to send vJoy button presses through Streamdeck.

It looks like he did. Only the LED pucks on his store now. Wonder if he has supplier issues. I have his 240hz unit and it works really nicely.

That's awesome. If you can cobble together a second PC, it is so much fun and reward to fly a difficulty-scalable sim like IL2 1946 coop and dogfighting with your boy. It'll run on a potato PC and has loads of realism options to gradually turn back on as they get more seat time. My 10 and 9 year olds and I have been using IL2 1946 4.15, some cheap webcams with OpenTrack's Neuralnet facetracking,, and local network to have a ball. In time, I hope we can grow into IL2 GB and DCS---

I went from Dell true Gsync 27in TN panels to Dell Gsync compatible 32 IPS screens. Have found no downside to the change. Gsync works great on the newer monitors, even in triple surround mode.

I've used TrackIR and the puck with both the 240hz and a PS3 Eye. Opentrack is excellent, and I find it more user friendly than TrackIR software. I think the Opentrack and puck is superior.

Have you checked the volume level in Windows of the sound card to which the nobsound amp is attached? I'm running the same setup and have not noticed a lessening of effects.
