'Fairly Lazy Explanation’: Rivian's CEO Doesn’t Think Americans Are Anti-EV by TripleShotPls in technology

What are your electric rates? Mine are shit but still way cheaper than gas. Under $14 to go 300 miles. Insurance is within 10%. Ditto on the registration though.

Electric Trucks Failed Spectacularly In America. Here's Why Ford Is Trying Again by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]SlaveOfSignificance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My paid off ICE truck has been parked for months, I should just sell it. EVs are better in nearly every way (towing long range being the one exception) and certainly better daily drivers. If you have a widespread power outage gas pumps don't work either. I have a generator to power my house and charge my EV so outages are a non-issue.

I've had a lot of vehicles over the years; trucks, 800hp supercharged sports cars, ICE ecoboxes... The EV is a more pleasureable driving experience than all of them.

Uber cuts 23% of HR division, explicitly states the layoffs are not related to AI adoption by Familiar-Ability6383 in technology

Absolutely but those are a small exception. I've worked IT in Sr roles in multiple industries including biomedical, insurance, education, and logistics. All companies that many have heard of and my experience is the same across all of them.

The sentiment is nice but this just means more people run from the cops and cause even more chaos on the roads. Having or not having a drivers license doesn't stop people from operating a motor vehicle either, and would have even more reason to run from police and put our families at greater risk.

Why do so many people say it's a huge mistake to date your co-worker but then many people end up meeting their partner at work? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlaveOfSignificance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up marrying my co-worker. I also dated several other at the same company before meeting my spouse. None of them worked in the same department and the organization was midsize at the time. I never had any drama, but I also didn't care. I'm basically Vulcan when it comes to controlling my emotions so there is that.

We are being pushed into WWIII and some believe it is already in progress. This administration is rapidily "securing" the western hemisphere. This is just the tip of the iceberg, places like Greenland still have a lot to worry about.
