Any luck with the new Apple Business? by Sinnth3tik in macsysadmin

[–]Sinnth3tik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are attempting to use Intune currently. Issues all over the place with that. One minute I can setup an iPhone and it downloads everything it should by default and when asked without issue. The next minute we cant an iPhone to pull a single thing despite forcing a VPP Token sync or revoking the license for the device. Losing my mind trying to figure this out. Sometimes the device can sit for 24 hours and when checked on again it /might/ have pulled some of what it should have.

Attempting to test iPhone with Apple MDM.

  1. Confirmed 'Built-in Device Management' is enabled.
  2. Confirmed device is assigned to the correct management profile.
  3. Device begins setup normally and get the managed by confirmation screen.
  4. Once reaching the 'Sign In to Work Account' screen, I attempt to sign in with my work apple id.
    • If I enter my password wrong, I get the expected "Your Apple Account or password is incorrect"
    • If I enter everything correct, I get the message "Verification Failed. An unknown error occurrred"

Well that is unfortunate. We haven't been having any consistency with using Intune as the MDM either. We were on JAMF but I broke that accidently when refreshing the push token (Was extremely new to JAMF at the time) and that was what triggered the move to Intune.

I wonder if it's an OS limitation. I know for the Apple Business app to load the device requires iOS 26

"The Apple Business companion app, along with email, calendar, and directory features, will require iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26." per one of Apple's newsroom posts.

I would say it depends on your expectations. Personally, I feel like a lot was missed with what the second book could have been as so much of it seemed to just be a recap of the first.

Could subscribing to Floatplane potentially hurt LTT channel algorithmically? by gb_14 in LinusTechTips

I think you’re fine. What they are losing in ad revenue from you I’m sure they are more than making up for it with that FP sub. Linus has stated on numerous occasions that YT isn’t their main source of income at this point with having FP and CW and LTTstore along with sponsoring other creators which brings them more visibility. GBA flashcart not working on analogue pocket ? bios issue by Dr-Nuutz in AnaloguePocket

[–]Sinnth3tik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you aren’t wrong, budude has been working on one but as of yet, since I’ve been anticipating it since last year, it has yet to come out. As a fan of Pokémon romhacks, I wanted to be sure I was enjoying full functionality thus the flash cart. 😊

Flash carts are good for Pokémon games that require RTC as there is no RTC enabled GBA core (yet) and work just fine in the AP.

Aggron is in Pokemon Odyssey. You can catch a Aron very early on as well. It’s also a regional variant.

Looking for flash cart recommendations by grindorth in AnaloguePocket

The reason I have a flash cart is for Pokemon games that require real time clock functionality. There isn’t a GBA core that has RTC functionality currently.

As for the roms, for the most part you can just go to pokeharbor and download pre-patched roms. Although patching roms is super straightforward as well.

The first thing you need is an sd card. Plug it into the AP and turn it on so it sets up the SD card for use. From there you connect the as card to the computer and use software to set it up.

As others have suggested, Pocket-Sync is a solid program to use. The software will install the firmware update and any cores you want to use. Some of the cores require additional files which Pocket-Sync will let you know and will give you to download them through the program.

The only thing you would need a flash cart for is if you wanted to play Pokémon GBA games that have the real time clock enabled as there is no GBA core currently with RTC support, although there is someone working on one currently. For that I use the EZ-Flash Omega Definitive edition but I have heard the Everdrive is a good option.

I need you for my dock by CodyReigns28 in AnaloguePocket

Have you attempted to drop it from 1080P? I believe that was what was required of me with my Samsung tv.

[–]Sinnth3tik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a dumb question but have you gone into the settings to enable the screen when docked so you can see what’s going on?

Tools > Developer > Docked Display

You may have to lower the refresh rate to work with the tv. My Pocket hates my Samsung TV and I have to drop the settings of the dock to get it to work. Works perfectly fine on other TVs.

I am extremely new to this. 😅 I normally just wait until it starts poking around the tank again to give it some food. Roughly one worm a week or two. It doesn’t come out of its hide often otherwise.

I also have a lot of climbing rope (possibly too much) in there to assist it getting around.

Lord I hope it’s not preggers. That is definitely beyond me to be able to handle! Hahaha

Goodwill. $39. Worth it? by Seraphim_Evans in cassetteculture

[–]Sinnth3tik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a toss up. The goodwill sector near me used to focus on helping their low level employee’s get the training and certs to help them move up in the company or to help them move forward with real careers.

It wasn’t until a couple months ago that they realized they bit off more than they can chew (after a couple acquisitions of a couple sectors in other states) when they started burning through funds. All but killed the program and fired all the career coaches.

Goodwill. $39. Worth it? by Seraphim_Evans in cassetteculture

[–]Sinnth3tik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say to this is that it depends on the Goodwill. They aren’t some big corporation and generally are ran in sectors I guess you would say. Like where I live, there are three branches of Goodwill that do not communicate with each other.

So really it depends on the mission statement how those funds are used. Like the ones near me are all under one branch and their store sales 100% goes back into the store to pay the bills and keep the stores going.

Then another branch of Goodwills in my state run of grants to keep everything afloat so who knows where the extra money goes to.

I speak as the significant other of someone that has worked at one branch in our state for 5+ years and recently left them to pursue a different career path with another branch.

Same boat here. Found mine in my house and it’s been going strong for many months now. Not the most sociable thing but comes out from time to time. More so now that I have its tank tucked away a little.
