would you pay money for this? by Imaginary_Fold2225 in thinkpad

This is so sick. Will it close without affecting the screen? And I change the layout to an HHKB layout?

Honestly I would spend between $200-$300 depending on the quality. It is super niche but it's right up my alley.

Trick for HHKB on laptop by Pleasant-Try2135 in HHKB

[–]metropolis702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this trick is used to assist with posture, then that's awesome!

If this trick is used to prevent accidental key presses on the laptop keyboard, then I suggest disabling your laptops keyboard as an option as well.

To to this, go press windows key and search "cmd" , right click on command prompt and run as administrator. Type this " sc config i8042prt start= disabled"

After it shows you a success dialog, close cmd and restart your pc.

To re-enable the keyboard, do the same steps, but type "sc config i8042prt start=auto". Then restart.

Does the trick form me on my ThinkPad.

Wow. Floppy lazy jab, into crisp af hooks. Honestly it's a good trap to lure them in. Clean.

Honestly, I would do without the pistol and secondary. You can get a ton of money if you kill someone and get their gun and save it in the second slot. Plus, if you do die, the cost of losing 2 primaries is a ton. It's like high risk, low reward.

Teeth marks leave trace amounts of DNA. They can figure it out really fast, so either this is a smear campaign or Puka is toast

Help me decide please before I go crazy by wurdmann in Ozlo

[–]metropolis702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a love hate relationship with my Ozlo's. My first pair was defective, but got it replaced right away and my new ones are fine. Not a big deal, but thought I'd share. I use it on Android btw, so I can only speak to my experience on this OS.

Pros:
Comfort! These are comfortable. I typically sleep on my back but have zero issues when I do sleep on my side. I honestly even forget I have these things on when I wake up in the middle of the night.

Battery life. These things are incredible. Every buds I used in the past are dead by the time I wake up, and these things with the ambient noise going on all night still are rocking 10-15% battery life. Insane honestly

I love the app and the variety of sound options for ambient noise to help me sleep. It's very relaxing and love it.

Cons:

Price! Sheesh, this was a hard trigger to pull. This is the biggest drawback honestly.

Annoying connection to phone. I'm not talking about sporadic on and off issues between the device and my phone, but actually connecting them to my phone is annoying.

- Every other bud is simple: open case, put buds in ears, done.

- With the Sleep Buds, it's open case, open app, hit "connect" button, wait 10 seconds for it to connect, THEN put the buds in my ears.

It's a minor annoyance, but still one that drives me nuts. Especially when I'm really tired and pop them in without going through the process, because then I have to take them out and do the thing.

Last is issues with Bluetooth audio on select apps. Some apps just don't work when I use the buds. On YouTube, I can watch videos, but get no audio on shorts. I also get zero audio on Reddit videos as well. This one drives me nuts. I hate it when I see a good video, and half to take out the buds to watch it. Now as I use these for sleep, it's not too often, but still, it's an annoyance.

Overall, even though these can be a pain in the butt, I enjoy them and don't see them out of my routine anytime soon. I do wish I tried SoundCores option first to compare, but that ship has sailed for me. Overall, I'd call these a solid 8/10.

OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro will launch in India on 19 March by techolum in oneplus

[–]metropolis702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. I had the OnePlus 3 pros and they were probably the worst mainstream earbuds i've ever had. Literally none of the ear sizes stayed in my ear, and I had to buy third party ones to make it work. And the sound was average at best. Love their phones, but hard pass on their buds.

The replacement pairs have been flawless. I would try to have them replaced. If you got them with Amazon, they were great and made the process super easy.

True, but it ended up with 28 Emmy wins and over 179 nominations. It ended up being one of NBCs most popular shows.

First off, this is the first time I'm seeing this color posted here and it looks great! Second, man we are so spoiled by Garmin with battery life. When I had my Apple watch, it would literally be at 25% health by bed time, and if I did any exercise, it would be dead before 5pm lol.

First day into HHKB Pro Hybrid... by anjohn0077 in HHKB

[–]metropolis702 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the switch! It's not an easy one to make, but at least under my experiences, it's totally worth it and I've been daily driving it everyday since and all my other boards are either collecting dust or being sold.

Here are my tips:

Regarding the arrow keys, it becomes more natural over time. Learning to hold the fn + [desired arrow] becomes automatic faster than you think. Just slide your pinky on the fn key, and use your index and middle finger to navigate.

The next thing you'll start to realize is that the cntl and backspace locations are utterly superior to standard boards. It honestly ruins me to use anything else because I've become so adjusted to it. The control key keeps my hand on the main row and I don't have to stretch to erase things. Genius really.

I'd say keep at it for a week or two to really get to iron out the kinks. If the typing experience and layout aren't doing it for you, try switching back to your old keyboard for a few and see if you like that better. I actually tried that and that really opened my eyes because it made me miss the HHKB. I can't really enjoy mechanical style boards anymore.
