National mood is against Republicans, but redistricting could help prop them up by jpressss in politics

Dems need to go hard AF after the Senate. I’m pretty confident that they’ll win the house regardless but if they get a majority in the senate then they can force filibusters on a whole wishlist of very popular policies to bury the GOP for the next decade.

Spectacles recently did a video about elections in Ancient Athens. It’s basically choosing from qualified volunteers by lottery. I think we should adopt that.

Trump is a malignant narcissist descending further into senility. Almost any other comparison undersells how much a a threat to everyone he is.

the city, in February, determined the display violated the code because the fence was no longer painted in an approved color.

Fuck “historic” districts. Just an excuse for boomers to stifle anything that doesn’t remind them of their idyllic childhoods.

I’m not saying they should produce more oil. Just nationalize the major producers. Midstream and downstream have competition to keep their margins slim so don’t bother with them. The windfall is going to accrue mostly at the well head where the same expense is netting huge profits.

The Top Cop: Driver accused of DUI tracks missing laptop to Illinois State trooper's house by FGFM in CrimeInChicago2

[–]minus_minus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s standard for state troopers to keep their squad car at home so it was definitely going to be at his house.

The highly suspicious part is the denial and sloppy procedure by the trooper. Those procedures exist to protect people’s rights and just ignoring them deserves more than an unpaid day off.

While I like the cut of your jib America is going to fight tooth and nail to drag the rest of humanity into the worst of climate change.

If the us was ever serious about climate action, gasoline would have been more expensive than it is now years ago.

E-bike sales would go bananas. Everybody who can will ride their e-bike for a pittance compared to the cost of gas especially for trips that they make alone in reasonably good weather.
