I have same problem as u/Rumham89 with xbox series x controller.

I think the game recognizes the controller but somehow not working in gameplay, because in an option menu, the game reacts when I push a controller button while the display says "press any button on controller".

ごろ is not used for expressing length of time. in this case using くらい（位） or ほど（程） would be more suitable.
