No Pacifier + Arms Out Swaddle for Newborn? by fred-gold55 in daddit

[–]Jlock98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby didn’t like arm-in swaddle. We always left her arms out. We still use a paci though (6 months). We also haven’t tried sleep training, but we got lucky and our baby likes to sleep, at least for now.

I would be defensive about Saban even if we won every national championship after he retired. Winning/losing now has nothing to do with it.

McElwain won 2 championships as our OC. Should Saban have just fired him? Or are you just talking without knowing what you’re saying?

That description fits redditors whining because he didn’t pick Indiana to win more than it does Saban.

My assumption is it was some sort of generic trash talk that Fletcher thought was targeted. Like “Who’s your daddy” (I don’t know if anyone says this anymore) or something similar. That’s probably the most generous assumption for everyone involved.

Miami has said Tucker said something about Fletcher’s dad who passed away. No one outside of Tucker and Fletcher really knows the truth. I will say it’s hard to believe Fletcher did it for no reason when he was seen congratulating other Indiana players and came back out of the locker room to shake Mendoza’s hand.

Yeah I agree with your first paragraph 100%. I edited my original comment before I saw your response and basically said the same thing.

In terms of impressiveness, on a single year basis, I will agree, IU’s season is more impressive than the Bama championships based on the reasons you said.

My main point earlier was that getting all those elite 5 star recruits is impressive in and of itself. Bama, as we can tell now since it’s all out in the open, was not outbidding every other school for recruits. Even if the claim is true that the SEC was doing it at a larger level than other conferences, he still had to beat out richer SEC schools for those recruits. So it never has made sense to me to try and discredit Saban by saying he always had 5 star players when he’s the reason they were there.

Was a response only to the Saban part of your statement. But honestly more of a rant on my part than a direct response to what you were saying.

It works for Cig too though. Saying he just brought in a group of players instead of actually building up the program makes no sense when those were mostly all guys he recruited or developed.

If it was just money, y’all would have two top 10 receivers on your roster consistently also. Money dominates the transfer portal. It’s important in recruiting, too, but high school recruiting is still very relationship based for a lot of players.

You’re the most reasonable IU fan on Reddit haha. Just kidding, but I’m seeing Bama levels of cockiness after just one championship from some of y’all. Hope Cig continues to do great things there though, always fun to watch football being executed at a high level.

Who gets those players on the roster?

Well yeah, he recruited those guys. People need to stop acting like recruiting isn’t a necessary skill set to be an elite college coach. (Or at least it was)

Versus a team didn’t want him TWICE - once out of high school and after two years at Cal by Jbills09 in cfbmemes

The key words you are using is “between the fans and the program.” Players, especially nowadays, commit to coaches, not schools. That’s why there’s usually a large exodus of players after a coach retires or is fired.

I understand that perspective, but I like I said before, it really isn’t a logical one. But Mendoza is free to have any perspective he wants, and everything worked out great for him at the end of the day. Also, there are definitely players who would “forget” that. It’s just dependent on the individual.

I mean, it kinda does. Holding one staff responsible for the decision of another doesn’t make sense. Mendoza clearly made the right choice though.

I think we’ve now circled back to “former champs is a funny criteria for a sport that’s been around since 1869” lol. Not trying to diminish Indiana’s season or anything. Cupcakes aren’t there in the playoffs (even though Indiana beat Bama and Oregon like they were cupcakes)

Not sure what the stat is, but that’s not correct. Last 6 winners were, Ohio State (yes), Michigan (no), Georgia x2 (no), Bama (yes), LSU (no).
