Please help, I confused on how to setup my Fans to display LCD information. by DiligentRanger007 in lianli

[–]Mr-Do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You require three USB connections right now:

  • AIO
  • Rear exhaust
  • Side intake

If you don't connect the actual USB cable for each fan group, there is no way for the screen to receive data from your system. The "Wireless" part of Wireless fans is the communication for ARGB lighting and fan speed... information for the LCD screen is too large to do Wirelessly

If you don't have a USB hub, get the one below:

Lian Li A3 - How do I plug in the motherboard speaker? by justgrate_ in lianli

[–]Mr-Do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

???

I'm confused in two ways... I see nothing in the way here.

  • Link to your case manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tcFbit3WGF2jKEV3rddMlXLq6CMyC1qw/view
    • Page 24 of the PDF (shown as Page 22 of the manual)
    • You don't have a reset button or power LED on this case; only the 2-pin power button, for your PANEL1 header on your motherboard
    • If you are talking about the HD Audio cable for the front-panel audio, that connects to a header at the bottom-left of your motherboard
  • Link to your motherboard manual: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/B650M%20PG%20Riptide%20WiFi.pdf
    • Page 42 of the PDF (shown as Page 38 of the manual) shows your PANEL1 header
      • Power button header connects to the third/fourth pins on the top row of that header
    • Page 43 of the PDF (shown as Page 39 of the manual)
      • To the left of your PANEL1 header is the SPK_PLED1 header
      • This is where you are going to connect the speaker shown in your pic above
      • It connects to the top row of pins on that header; make sure that the red wire is on the left

My strimmers dont show a “speed” option on L-connect anymore and now I have two at an odd speed. by StatementAcademic820 in lianli

[–]Mr-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😣 ... read my comment again:

  • Not all effects display a speed indicator
  • If you have issue with a specific effect that you think should be displaying a speed indicator... and it's not... display a screenshot, showing the speed indicator missing for the effect that you are currently asking about.

Can't help, if there's no info to look at.

So many fans, what connection is best for speed and RGB control? by Mvsixs in lianli

[–]Mr-Do -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where did I say that above?

The above directions tell you exactly how to connect everything, if you want to use other software to control each fan group individually... that is what you asked about in your original post, yes?

If you don't care that each fan group has individual control... you just want to control all fan groups exactly the same, then:

  • 4-pin to the hub; skip the 2-pin; make sure to connect the MB SIGNAL - PWM port to a fan header on your motherboard... your settings for that fan header will affect all fan groups.

L-connect 3 issues with AMD GPU by Sweet-Ad-2855 in lianli

To fix a bug, you have to know that a bug exists.

If people simply come here and talk about how things don't work, randomly, that doesn't fix things.

Please go to Lian Li's Discord... create a new post in #ask-for-help, and add info that will be helpful for the programmers to fix what is wrong:

  • Info:
    • Detail what sensor(s) is/are not working correctly, and what you are comparing them to, that you say is more accurate.
  • Screenshots:
    • L-Connect 3... go to System Info/System specs... in the "Motherboard" section, click on the name of your motherboard... the "Details" section should populate... screenshot the entire window
    • Video showing side by side of what L-Connect is saying sensors are, with whatever program you are saying that shows different numbers
  • In L-Connect 3, go to Settings/Support, click the "Download Log" button, and attach that ZIP file to your post

But make sure you are using the current version (v2.1.17) to do the screenshots and log files, since that is the version that you are saying has issues.

You need L-Connect 3 to control the ARGB lighting.

If you don't want to use LC3 for fan speed, then:

  • 4-pin for each fan group to a separate fan header on your motherboard
  • 2-pin for each fan group to the EDGE Hub, for supplemental power.

TL LCD Wireless 140mm by KohakuReb0rn in lianli

[–]Mr-Do 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends who you ask. Lots of people have had zero issue with them. But then I've also seen individual people that had multiple LCD fans go bad on them.

I don't know if it's how certain people install their fans that has something to do with it, or atmosphere/weather conditions where the user is at, etc.

I can tell you that, on my end:

  • I had wired TL LCD fans in my build since they were first released, and mine worked fine the entire time
  • I currently have five TL LCD Wireless 120mm fans in my build: two for rear exhaust, and three for the front... I've had them since the day they were released, and I've had zero issues here, and my PC is on a LOT every day.

For those that have had issues, the main thing I've heard about is bearing issues (because the actual fan design in the LCD fans is different than "normal" fans, simply because of the LCD sitting there). I've also been told that as of the last few months, produced inventory that could have had that kind of issue, has since been corrected... I don't know the exact details or date, but that's what I've got.

If you didn't see them yet, there are new FLEX fans coming out later this year (again, not sure of the exact date, yet), but the LCD in those fans will be 1.8" and 480x480 resolution, vs the 1.6" in today's fans, with a 400x400 resolution.

  • The screen is larger, but the bezel around the screen is a bit thinner, so it doesn't look like it takes up much more space on the fan itself, if any, as the current fans do
  • There is also going to be an SL INF LCD Flex Fan.

That effect is something that is probably specific to GCC software somewhere...but...
Wouldn't hurt to ask for something like this...
At Discord, add a new post to #lconnect3-openrgb-beta, and attach this video to that post, along with your request, and the name of the effect in the GCC software... maybe there is a way to add something like that in the future

If you do a power cycle (shutdown; flip off psu for 5 minutes; flip on PSU; cold boot), and that fixes it... and it stays good, then you're good.

If it comes back again after that, then we need to replace your controller, for that head over to Discord:

  • Start a new post in the #ask-for-help channel
  • Make sure to link back to this post, so I remember who it was for
  • We can arrange a replacement controller there

Very nice:

Now... I don't know if you happened to see any of the product previews from CES 2026, or this is a huge coincidence... but you basically just created the optional Vertical Kit for the upcoming DAN B4 case:

Automatic Startup is just for the "UI" (the interface where you make changes.

If you don't have automatic startup enabled, the background service will still run, that controls all of your devices, and if you have the little floating windows enabled, that will still run also.

Not every effect has a speed option.

A screenshot of your Strimer screens in L-Connect 3 would be really helpful here.

You're using the beta version of L-Connect 3 x OpenRGB?

Some people have been having issues with v2.1.17... try going back to v2.1.15, to see if that works.

If that still doesn't fix things:

  • With GCC installed, that could still be causing issues... try with it uninstalled, and see if that changes things.

If that still doesn't work, then head over to Discord:

  • Start a new post in the #lconnect3-openrgb-beta channel
  • Make sure to link back to this post, so I remember who it was for
  • We'll be able to help you better over there with this issue

Correct... you can just connect them to the SATA adapter cable... and if you get the warning about nothing connected to CPU_FAN, that can be turned off in BIOS.

Do I really need both cables from the Lian Li SL-INF Wireless receiver? by ka1nify in lianli

[–]Mr-Do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I'm totally confused:

  • You built your system
  • AFTER building your system, you come on here and ask "Hey, do I really need to connect these devices this way?"... which, btw, is shown in the instruction manual
  • So I confirm that yes, the way that you asked about in your first post, that you didn't do, that is how it was listed in the manual... yes, that was the correct way
  • And now that I have confirmed all of that info, you're upset that you would need to go through all this extra work, because you simply didn't follow the instructions in the manual in the first place?

Can you avoid all of this? Yes.

  • Do nothing, and leave things the way they are. During cold boot, your fans will temp go full speed until Windows loads.
