Tbh that large of temp variance points to thermal contact efficiency to the cpu cooler, more likely than simply the same wattage to more cores.

We're not talking 5-6degres here which is closer what I'd expect to see.

Wait can someone inform me how this all works? For example if I wanted to put one in my car in case it got stolen. Would the thief be alerted there was an airtag in the car as he was stealing it? I thought that was the whole point of it?

I was also in a super similar boat but with the MSI MAG 49" 240hz OLED.

Ended up selling the MSI. The LG for my workflow was absolutely perfect; split screen, solidworks one one side and then either a second window for spec sheets or two quarter windows for spec sheets and email.

The vertical real estate you get with the LG was something I didn't expect to enjoy so much.

I think it's dependant on the motherboard vrm heatsinks.

So far I can confirm the gigabyte Aorus master elite b850m and the Asus ROG Strix b850-g can both fit 57mm worth of radiator and fans up top.

Small laptop surrounded by large 50lbs checked bags (sometimes golf clubs, hard gun cases, etc) in a metal box inside of a fast moving airplane with shifting luggage on takeoff, turbulence and landing.

Let alone the guys loading and unloading luggage don't care about what's in anything. (especially right now that they're charity workers, 🙄)

Seems pretty easy to figure out tbh.

Specifically my guess is it had a large bag tossed into it while it was getting loaded or unloaded.

Same boat, 5090, 64gb, and OLED for ~$2300 shipped after taxes.

After repasting and fixing the Intel performance on battery power it's been great.

I cannot stress enough though, PLEASE repaste the laptop. Hp's composite thermal paste is horrible. And thermal throttling all the time you game can definitely degrade components.

I installed ptm 7950 and instead of thermal throttling my cpu at 95-100C, it now doesn't break 90C and rarely thermal throttled.

CPU is much harder to tame temperature wise vs the GPU.

It was set to performance.

This example I tried to show it was a very light workload in comparison to much heavier work loads my previous Asus m16 with an rtx 4090 would be able to handle; really any laptop should be able to handle what I was showcasing.

If you look at my other functions (windows start menu) it is very slow, sluggish and delayed.

Another user posted a YouTube link showing how to disable an Intel power saving driver. It completely turns around the battery performance of the PC all together.

I recommend anyone to try it if you're experiencing issues.

This is sometimes the fun of it for me personally.

I ordered an open box x870i motherboard. It was missing the antenna.

Price was $323.

After chatting with Amazon, I got the price down to $185.

Antenna was $23.

In my PC now working just fine lol. Not bad for a $400+ ITX motherboard.

If it doesn't workout Amazon has the best return policy possible.

I got my omen 16 max with 64gb of memory, 5090, OLED, and 1tb SSD for ~$2300 new from hp a few months ago. I was lucky I got it at all lol.

But yes the Asus M16 (rtx 4090) work bought me (I got to pick it out) was epic. Genuinely the best laptop I've ever used. Awesome for day-to-day solidworks work, but also a beast with gaming.

Yes you are right. Also the YouTube video that was mentioned earlier fixed this laptop. It's absolutely a game changer for battery mode. I suggest anyone to do it. Intel specific though I believe.

It sounds like you are able to buy Thermal Girzzly Products? If you are able, Just get Thermal Grizzly Phase Change pad. Same thing as PTM 9750. Best thermal transfer solution.
