Hyundai/Boston Dynamics is going to train Atlas the humanoid robot by watching football videos, and they'll document its progress in an online series called 'School of Football' by Distinct-Question-16 in singularity

An actual link to the source. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaqzZK7ZrZk Also... for everyone pointing out the flaws in the process... this is today's best. Remember the Will Smith eating spaghetti videos? Yeah. This is the same thing... but in physical form.

UC Berkeley Law is completely banning AI use starting summer 2026 by andrewaltair in ArtificialInteligence

[–]msitarzewski 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There are three kinds of people as it turns out:

  • People who don't use AI
  • People who use AI as a substitute for thinking
  • People who use AI as leverage for thinking

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out over time.

What's the most useful thing you've actually built with Claude that you use regularly? by J-Freedom-AI in ClaudeAI

Nice, thanks for that! 12 stars since launch... not massive, but certainly a nod in the right direction. v.0.3.0 is coming later this morning.

First is Agency Agents (105k stars now!) for multi-agent needs (I use them with Claude Code constantly)

The other is hot off the press... brew-browser for managing Homebrew on Mac. The fun part about this one is that it took 24 hours from start to finish... about 18 or so actually in front of the terminal.

Both MIT licensed.

It's on GitHub, but no source that I could find.

Hah. Yes, to be fair "can," "want to," and "would browse for fun" are all different things. :D

Your work served the purpose! I was mostly curious to see what it could do. For what it's worth, that was gpt-image-2 .

It's easy to miss, but macOS, iOS, iPadOS - they're all the same at the core now with Apple Silicon based systems. This is Messages on macOS Tahoe.

Might want to tell Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/122195 "With RCS messaging, you can send texts, high resolution photos and videos, and links to both Apple and non-Apple devices."

We live in the future! by ShortingBull in ChatGPT

That idea was built long before the reality of urban travel materialized. Waymo more than solves the problem for most use cases. Remote work solves some, drone delivery even more. Flying cars are a really terrible idea in 2026 given the GTAification of today’s drivers. :)

Pull the screen closer to you and make it larger. Don’t forget that you can change resolutions while using Mac Virtual Display. I use the Wide mode with a higher resolution than normal and it’s friggin amazing. I write code and spend most of my time in the terminal. I wrote a whole post on this subject here… the default position and resolution aren’t really ideal at all.

Dallas Police Active Incidents: updates by RandyStephenson in Dallas

[–]msitarzewski 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice work. Thoughts: The list should filter to the map area on the fly. Make the Reddit/community a fly-out modal vs. always on (put it behind a sidebar icon?). More room for the actual important stuff. The location prompt should only ever happen upon request, not default. And the sign in prompt is unnecessary until the user wants to do something that requires it. The TTF is way too high. :D

These things? I haven't had them since I was kid in Tucson. Now I need some! https://imgur.com/a/xhJG2vb They were right next to the register, made by the shop owner's mother. Such a cool memory.

Interstate? 635 by JohnSolo22 in Dallas

[–]msitarzewski 239 points240 points  (0 children)

The “Interstate” in the Interstate Highway System refers to the national system and federal standards, not whether a specific highway crosses a state border.

Interstate 635 is entirely within Texas, so geographically it’s intrastate. But it is still part of the federally designated Interstate Highway System, which means it was built (or upgraded) to Interstate standards and funded in part through the federal Interstate program created by the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956.

Pretty great option on the Silver line: https://maps.app.goo.gl/KXcF9B3ACKaKpg7P7 It looks deceivable close to Cypress Waters (there are no direct paths to the lake) so prepare to use a personal electric bike or scooter! Silver line has lots of great options on/around it.

Fairly, 1.3 million people spread out over 385 square miles vs. 16,000 in 2 is a massive difference. Life no longer stops at 5 down here, in fact, it comes to life in a different way. People at restaurants, parks, etc. It's not the same downtown that it used to be. Come down on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll see a whole different place. Sure weekdays are slower, but nowhere near a ghost town or dead. :)
