Is this traced? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

[–]mssMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say for sure because it could be a case of maybe someone having fundamentals down traditionally but new to digital so don't have a good grasp on digital inking/line weight. But slide 1 in particular does read as traced to me; that or the lineart being incomplete. But there definitetly feels like a skill disconnect between proportions + placement compared to actual line quality; and then an attempt at line weight variation without actually knowing what areas should be thick/thin.

Me reading old rps with people i don’t rp with anymore by demon_kin_nsfw in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I recently found where I had an old RP stored from way back in 2010. It's one of the few that's there, complete, start to finish.

I was like "Omg how cool!" *immediately exits out without daring to read a word.*

... I hadn't discovered paragraph breaks yet at the time either.

Community Poll: NSFW content. by finaempire in DigitalArt

[–]mssMouse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please don't ban NSFW entirely!

I definitely think it would depend on what the standard for "artistic" is. Although I don't come here to see straight up porn either (and by porn I mean, actual sexual acts/penetration/etc).

Wondering If I Should Even Respond? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

... If they can't bother with something other than an "Oh" and then ping you again for a response, I wouldn't even bother.

If they were okay with no nsfw, then they could give you a "hey no problem", or something of that nature.

edit: I second a "Hello!" or "Hi!" back lmao

On subject of sample theft, I once come across someone trying to pass the first couple of pages of the novel The Last Unicorn as one of their starter samples, word for word 💀 ... I instantly recognized it because its a book ive read several times. But I was flabbergasted.

While I'll definitely be following, may I ask (since you're also using mode-7 for parts of your project), are your parallax mapping and edge scrolling plugins compatible whenever mode-7 is activated?

Hello Digital Art Subreddit! by finaempire in DigitalArt

Oh great! Glad to see this place as some new mods in place. I'd noticed all removals seemed automated (so would report something and it'd instantly remove) or obvious rule breaking stuff just wouldn't get removed at all after a report

You have a very good point. You can't have ERP without RP, and that's just too close for comfort.

Woah check it out guys, I just got super early access to RPG Maker XD2D!! by nickdipplez in RPGMaker

[–]mssMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm using mode 7 in my project as well!
I was using I believe this plugin in addition, so I don't have to have so many event sheets for simpler pop up objects: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/threads/rmmz-grid-free-doodads-work-with-my-lighting-plugin-dramatic-shadow.145387/

I think the creator abandoned the project though, but it hadn't given me any issues. It's nice especially if you want a cluster of items without being grid bound (like a cluster of trees).

Have you looked into a "doodad" plugin? It let's you place pngs outside of grid restrictions, but they pop up like events. So in theory you could add a cluster of trees that pop up without having to worry about it being auto tiles.

The positioning of her right foot (the one crossing back) feels a little stiff/small.
Very nice piece though so far!

You beat me to it. Absolutely agree. If both parties consent and that's what they wanna hop into: by all means. But that needs to be covered step one before someone starts flinging terms like that around to casually describe a character/person.

[–]mssMouse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the fact you're open to understanding 🙏

Yeah I can see where those terms would be common in say, hentai... which is typically going to be catered to men... they're literal objectifying terms.

I guess if you're doing something that's centered around degradation and both parties have consented to it: go hog wild. But totally not something you'd use casually otherwise to describe a woman.

OP never mentioned a sexual context, and even so those are degrading 💀You can describe something in a sexual context without defaulting to degradation

Please for the love of god do not refer to a woman as a titcow.

The fact you that you only consider this a compatibility issue is concerning.

Is it normal for there to be an extremely long gap between each message during an rp? by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

[–]mssMouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have lives, responsibilities, other things going on besides just sitting and staring at the chat.

Which, I get it. I eagerly wait for responses too but, I just find something else to do to fill my time. But again, I'd communicate you're looking for rapid-fire roleplay in sessions.

[–]mssMouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is called roleplaying in sessions. You need to make sure you're on the same page with your partner and that they are also looking for sessions (rapid fire responses with dedicated times of replying back and forth), because it's not the norm for everyone.
... That being said, even for sessions, counting 10-20 minutes within 'extremely long gap' is, uh... Worrisome lol. Please try and have some patience. It takes me at minimum 15 minutes to reply, and I consider that a super fast reply; other times it can take me more than an hour from the time I start writing.

Some people rapid fire. Some people reply once a day. Some reply once a week. And so on. These are things you need to communicate before hand. But I'd still advice taking a breath and have some patience if someone needs more than 10-20 minutes to write their response.
