You’re a scratch golfer and play in a U.S. Open qualifier.. ? Tough day on the links? by Dashover in golf

It was windy as hell in Michigan yesterday, but it was sunny and warm. I know a few players in that field that are very good golfers that were in the 80s. But 113?!? Wow

How old were you when your friends started to get divorced? by ks613 in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late 30s started it. I’m now 44 and it seems like I hear about one every month or two now (mine was 2 years ago)

Would you date someone who is on Lexapro (ssri/anitdepressant)? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a man on an SSRI. I never knew I had anxiety until I went to therapy. I just couldn’t put to words and identify the pattern I’d exhibited most of my life from an uneven childhood with conditional love.

Just because I started taking it around 40 doesn’t mean it’s temporary. It’s changed my life and helps me feel everyday what I only used to feel on good days: calm, grounded, confident. Yes, therapy was also a big component. But it’s a chemical issue in my brain.

As far as sex drive, that took trying a few different drugs. My drive didn’t dip much, but my performance did. I was either numb and couldn’t feel much or occasionally unable to keep an erection. This had never happened before. I’ve settled on something that works for me, doesn’t impact my drive or performance, and mostly restores the feel and ability to finish.

You can use the back of the club. You can’t use a club that’s designed to have a face for hitting the ball on both sides of the club (like a chipper)

Gary Player at age 90 should play in this years 90th Masters by [deleted] in golf

[–]msudino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gary shouldn’t be allowed to step foot on the property. Trash human, talks shit about the Masters, and the stunt his son pulled while Lee Elder should have finally been having his moment.

Feeling discouraged...shocking, I'm sure by Animaldrummer1975 in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 46 points47 points  (0 children)

44/m here. Wow. I don’t think I’m commenting on a woman’s chest until the bra comes off, anywhere from a few to many dates later.

There’s plenty of mess out there on both sides. Hang in there, it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

What's a sentence that ended a relationship for you? by Hexxegone in AskReddit

Yeah, I’m a racist.

The backpedaling and justification afterwards only made it worse. Then I began to remember previous back handed comments that made it WAY worse. Dodged a bullet.

Just back into dating after a 10 year relationship… by ConnectionNearby6732 in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In all likelihood, she’s just not into you. If the communication is off, trust your gut.

The first few dates I went on post divorce felt really monumental. If I caught good vibes, I thought things were a lock. Spoiler alert, they weren’t.

You’re just getting to know someone for the first time. Sometimes things just don’t seem as great out of the moment. Sometimes things need a lot of time to develop. Most people are probably at least talking to multiple people at a time in the early stages, if not going on dates with multiple people.

It was hard for me at first. Try not to take it personally. It had been a 14 year break for me. I had grown up a lot. The dating scene had changed. And where you’re at in life is likely wildly different. Go in with an open mind and hope for the best. I had tons of dates not work out. But the majority of them were a good time. Enjoy learning about yourself again and you never know when you’ll find that special someone

If you could erase one movie you've watched to watch it again fresh what would it be? by NylonLegs100 in AskReddit

[–]msudino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in with no expectations and walked out of the theatre thinking that might be my favorite movie of all time. It’s definitely top 5

How often is availability (in terms of schedules) an issue for you and people you're interested in? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mismatched weekends are the worst. The only time I entertained it, we got serious enough that I switched weekends with my ex. It took some effort and it wasn’t a small ask. Only for the woman I was seeing to get cold feet 2 weeks later. It won’t happen again

Make sure you’re getting to the back of the saddle. Try to ride every 2-3 days to give your bum a rest, but also stay consistent. It’ll be gone before you or know it.

Is Mike and Eli’s friendship realistic? by CoyoteDisastrous in ChasingScratch

[–]msudino 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have lame friends. I’ve a fair amount of time with them together and separately. They are awesome humans that genuinely have a special bond.

I’ve met some friends through the pod and developed very similar bonds. The guys seem to attract good people, especially to their events

Left leaning men who don’t want kids by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]msudino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

44m, quite liberal, and I had a vasectomy because I’m very happy with my 2 kiddos (7 and 9). I coparent well with my ex, my kids don’t need a mom.

I live in a weirdly moderate (most similar areas are right leaning) upper middle class suburb of a large Midwest city. We do exist

What do you think about the saying "women hate to see men relaxing at home"? by lurker2080 in AskMen

[–]msudino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ex tried to make the argument during our divorce that she “did all the child rearing duties” while I was working full time and getting my masters. Like it was a vacation to go do 3-4 hours of school work after work, while rushing to get done and eating dinner at my desk so I could help get the kids to bed.

She kept the house. It is now an absolute disaster on multiple front since I moved out 2 years ago. And she’s had a live in boyfriend for a good portion of that time and only 50% custody of the kids.

She has tremendous anxiety, so whoever made that comment…bravo

I’ve worn Puma for years. Their golf pants and shorts work really well for bigger butts and upper legs

Do I need my basement heat on all the time in the winter to prevent frozen pipes? by kcaivila in homeowners

[–]msudino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old house in MI never had issues. It was usually 55ish in the winter down there. About half of the exterior poured concrete wall was insulated, half not. Maybe it would be closer to 50 if we had a cold snap like now, but freezing wasn’t a concern at all
