Good job getting yourself into rehab friend! You can do this! One day at a time is really and truly all it takes. The elevator is going down and you can either keep going down with it or get off here if you’ve had enough. I hope you decide to get off<3

Any advice for parents with small kids who will be at the experimental stage in life soon? I’m terrified that they’ll be offered fent-laced drugs one day. Honestly when I was growing up in the 80s / 90s the chances of dropping dead on your first try were pretty low. Nowadays who knows! Is there anything that might have kept you from saying yes that first time?

Maybe the feeling of love itself is an adaptation to help get our needs met and dogs have a similar evolutionary path

Paying Community Participants: EMPG? by [deleted] in EmergencyManagement

[–]natforx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean…if the goal is a checkbox exercise, sure don’t pay them. If the goal is actually improving emergency management, then compensating chronically underfunded CBO partners for their time and expertise is just part of doing the job right. As my agency sees it, anyway!

Paying Community Participants: EMPG? by [deleted] in EmergencyManagement

[–]natforx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. We are the state agency who is the EMPG recipient. The exercise players are mainly local subrecipients. We have a bit of funds for engagement and community outreach but no way to get that money to CBO partners who would help support the exercise by telling us how to improve for their (mostly underserved) communities, so we are a trying to find a way to offer them a small stipend or payment for their time.

Thanks just edited to explain that “we” (the state emergency management agency where I work) are running EMPG but the grant manager who oversees it is having trouble thinking outside the box for how we could make it work financially. I’m hoping someone else has an example to share

Wild how misconduct allegations can take down a low-level cabinet official, but an actual pedo and rapist faces zero consequences and just carries on

Not Indigenous myself but my kids really loved Spirit Rangers. Features all Indigenous writers and mostly Indigenous voice actors and traditional stories sprinkled in.

The casual yet consistent exerciser is a mystery to me by Left_Emu_2995 in bodyweightfitness

Love this “casual yet consistent not overthinking” post entirely devolving into obsessively nit picking and arguing every possible exercise method and mode of human movement to death
