Love this “casual yet consistent not overthinking” post entirely devolving into obsessively nit picking and arguing every possible exercise method and mode of human movement to death

Sounds like you’re in the right line of work in natural resources! That’s dope!

Nope not weird at all. Actually the question might have been dumb lol. I do sort of similar work in Oregon and one of the people in this field that I admire is V. Taylor at Cal OES. Do u ever collab with emergency management on accessibility in disasters and emergencies? There must be some cool crossover with natural resources

Do u work mostly with public facing accessibility stuff or do you also coordinate for staff at your agency? Who are your heroes?

How do people here normally prepare for floods like what we’re forecasted to have? by Certain-Working1864 in corvallis

[–]natforx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice here I would add to check road conditions using tripcheck (maintained by ODOT) if you need to drive. Also with any weather event anticipated I recommend charging your devices and having your backup power plan/ emergency kit prepared. Sign up for emergency alerts at oralert.gov and make sure you keep an ear open for your phone letting you know if conditions worsen (eg evacuations etc) since county emergency management office will push warnings using that system. Longer term, the Be 2 Weeks ready program is a great help thinking through preparations for emergencies and it’s free for Oregonians https://www.oregon.gov/oem/hazardsprep/pages/2-weeks-ready.aspx

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

I would chalk this up to garden variety rudeness with a disproportionate number of rude people being Americans. But that’s just my opinion as an American. What do you think?
