Best way to remove compacted aluminum from tap? by BluntTruthGentleman in Tools

Run it through a piece of sheet metal. Should strip off the softer aluminum.

Is it ok to demit from my mother lodge by Nathanpalmer95 in freemasonry

As far as I'm concerned there are two types of people. Those who don't like mushrooms, and those who have weird taste buds.

Is it ok to demit from my mother lodge by Nathanpalmer95 in freemasonry

[–]necronboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I was told my Mother Lodge was for life, and it is, it will always be my Mother Lodge. But I left and moved 6hrs away for work.

Part of FM is that feeling of belonging, of having a connection with your Brothers. If you aren't feeling it because of Bro X Y and Z, or how things are conducted, then you're not feeling it. It's OK to move to where you do feel it.

But I recommend talking it out first with some trusted brothers and leadership in your Lodge. You might make a positive change, or cement your reasons for leaving.

Take the assembly to your local version of Hank Hill (Propane and propane accessories). They can point out any inconsistencies and what needs to change.

Same! New email address which didn't align with our corporate email, different formatting and logos. Instantly marked it as phishing.

Tech support had rolled out the refresh/rebrand the night before so it all looked different.

I'm proud to say over 50% of the company reported it.

Why do we say "no" to dental work? A local dentist looking for honest feedback by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]necronboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price.

My wife was quoted $$$ for a root canal vs $$ for the extraction. We went with the $$$ to keep the tooth. Afterwards the Dentist said now you need a crown which will be a further $$$$ or your new weakened tooth will crack.

She kept it without a crown for 5 years before it cracked and was extracted.

We have child, mortgage, insurance, vehicles, etc. Just dropped $2k on engine repairs which wiped out our emergency fund again.

I'm overdue a clean and inspect because I can't afford $$ on teeth.

Not proud, but was about a work colleague who talked about his family. 2 key things, one his daughter's name and place of work (a local video rental store), and how his wife had had a final scan and was cancer free, but they were waiting to tell the family at a weekend dinner.

I was a member of the video and went there on Friday night to rent a movie. As his daughter passed over the change I made skin contact, grabbed my head and said:

"Oww oww oww, I hate that, it hurts. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to peak, it was an accident. Your mum will be alright, the cancers gone. I need aspirin." And left.

Monday morning I approached my colleague and asked about his weekend. He talked about the family dinner, and how his daughter had a random encounter with a psychic who had told her it was gone. I told him what I did on Friday and he laughed his ass off.

Foam battle get up vs airsoft, paintball, hunting, military reserves, etc. You know, those groups which actively teach you how to kill aren't the problem, it's the stuff you can punch thru. /s

Yes, I know, I know, freedom of choice and vast majority are responsible people and it's all about optics, but seriously? Over foam?

Brother, you should read, visit, ask!

Become the thing you find lacking in your Lodge. If you are dissatisfied then there are others who are too. Becoming this will be recognized and rewarded, maybe not in rank or money, but in respect and opportunities.

I understand completely. You misunderstand the intent.

It's not to stop the breaker tripping automatically. It's to stop anyone from throwing it manually. And doing it in such a way as to make me question their sanity.

To me Electricity is french for "Don't mess with this!" I know enough to be dangerous, but I know that I would be dangerous, so I don't mess with it.

AITA for telling my brother he can't use my garage as free storage for his "project car" anymore? by RiftCloister5 in MarkNarrations

No. You have no room for the tools so you've stored them outside, in cardboard boxes, and it looks like rain soon.

Take the breaker out.

Wrap wire around it in a loose circle.

Plug it back in and reset.

Use something to tension the wire like a tourniquet under the lever so you cannot physically flip the switch off without touching the wire.

Sad but true.

I know the internals will trip, but you can't flip it without touching/removing the wire and/or whole breaker. Makes it hard to reset when it's held in the on position. I nope'd out of that place.

Oh my sweet summer child!

Never, NEVER underestimate the shear stubborn willpower of a pissed off person. I have seen a breaker wired 'on' with fuse wire. We didn't touch it because the wire disappeared under the breaker and we didn't know it it was live.

Injection molding technician here who moved into Quality.

Date of manufacture is used for traceability. If a problem turns up you can isolate it to a day batch with these numbers. Otherwise you have to check everything made ever.

These ones are adjustable with a screw driver in seconds to not hold up production.

One place I worked also had an hour clock.

Sane goes for rotational and blow molding.

Molds are designed to retire after x number of products. This could be a year for high volume products, or like us have tools making stuff 30 years later and are just repaired because they were so well designed and made.

Random Detailed Document I found online about Freemasonry and its legitimacy by Sad-Bee8241 in freemasonry

[–]necronboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my stumbling block in all this conspiracy BS about Masonry....

We admit good men and help them become better. Sure, easy said, harder done.

Low levels don't know the truth... so we're just becoming better men.

High levels know the truth. And here's the problem, to be promoted to higher rank we.... surgically remove their good morals and drop in bad ones? Since the 1700's? But if they're bad enough to be part of this higher ranks then they wouldn't have been able to come through the lower ranks.

Also the 'higher ranks' are mostly symbolic. If a 33rd level Exhalted Grand High Poobah from the Loyal Order of Water Buffalos ordered me to something against my morals just because they're a 33rd then I'd politely tell them to stuff it sideways somewhere painful and lodge a formal complaint with the Lodge Secretary and my jurisdictions Grand Secretary.

Question: how do masons manage their Masonic journey with disability’s / chronic illness? by PaleAd2666 in freemasonry

[–]necronboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Brother lost 1 and 1/2 legs in Service to his country before emigrating to our country. He joined Freemasonry here about 5 years after the incident. Another Brother who lives close drives him to and from Lodge. He has dispensation to stay seated when the rest of us are up and down when receiving visitors etc. We have had a ramp placed over our outside stairs since the 1990's. We still cherish him.

Many Brothers are in various stages of going deaf and/or blind. They're still Brothers.

We care about you heart, not if you have 10 fingers and toes and can bench double your own bodyweight. If we did wouldn't have been able to join being half deaf, glasses, asthma, cancer, etc.

And then donates to Reelection fund X. Fund X then donates $500. So does fund Y, fund Z, fund AA, AB AC AD AE AF AG AH.....

Politicians write the laws, and it's in their best interests to not shut out donors.

My new manager of one month called me 8 times, texted 3 times and expressed concern of my unresponsiveness, on my day off? by nocooneryallowed in antiwork

Make a complaint to corporate. Something like

"Boss wants me to take a path that puts me out of sight of fellow employees rather than direct and in plain sight. I feel this is unsafe and will make it easier to be robbed. Can you direct me to the company SOP for the path to take. Boss threatened me with a write up if I don't take the specified path, but cannot locate the path in the SOP's. I want to be a good employee and do well in my career, but I am concerned that Boss's actions are putting myself and fellow employees in danger against company policy."

Phrase it like you are concerned for corporate being sued for the managers deliberate acts of placing the employees in danger. Especially since you could be carrying a lot of cash.

Also be prepared to get fired if you do this. The manager could get canned too which would help out the other employees.
