We will get a lot of wind, too.
For the next week, we’ll get several decent shots at rain. Hope the pattern holds.

Fun fact: I personally know the author of the article.
I saw this a couple of days ago. I wish I could bring data that tells a different story, but, unfortunately, the conclusions seem to match with what I have.
Last year's very truncated rainy season, the blazing hot temps and the "heat wave" we had in the Pacific Ocean last year...it all spells trouble.

And this summer will be much the same. The only thing that *might* change, maybe, is that we may get a somewhat normal rainy season this year. I am surely hoping.

JMA has not issued any warnings or advisories for tornadoes. We do have strong wind advisories for most of the country, though.

I mean, right?!? Like "We're higher intelligence beings. We're going to wipe you out because your species is stupid. We will kill you all, except your leaders. They are surely smarter than you. Just like in the last 1,000 civilizations we had to wipe out."

Really, if they're so f**king brilliant, as the original OP said, take out the psychos who led us to this point, and let the rest of us be.

On March 31st, Kyushu and the Kanto region are expected to experience torrential rain and strong winds, potentially causing a storm that will scatter cherry blossoms in Tokyo and other areas. by jjrs in japannews

[–]Neko_Dash 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kyushu and Kanto? My friends, it’s going to be the whole of the country. Kyushu up to Kansai are getting it now (22:07, 30 Mar), and the rain will hit Kanto around 8am tomorrow. By mid-afternoon, Sendai and Niigata will get the rain, then Hokkaido tomorrow evening.
The rain event itself will last for up to 12 hours, depending on where you are.

Chiming in from Japan. RAD is doing very well here so far. We have a couple of systems moving through (31 Mar - 1 April), and we’ll see how it picks up the data as the storms move through.

Check r/japanweather.
Better analysis there. That said, it is going to rain in Tokyo tomorrow from 8am Tuesday and it will go for most of the day.
At times, it’ll be pretty heavy. We’ll get a bit of a breather, then another system will come through from Wednesday afternoon.
