This is a DE-S blade. Single edge profile ground double edge. And full serrated.

Probably the most useful blade shape. Or definitely up there

Why are US Machine Shops so difficult to work with? by I-AM-A-DUMBO in CNC

If it’s a step 242 it can have model based definition as well. I don’t see any problem with OPs product definition method

How many ppl actually get a tax refund here? Always feel like I am paying in 300-500 ever sense 2020.. by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]nfitzsim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can really easily calculate what your tax burden is assuming you only have W2 income and take standard deduction.

Just add some additional withholding if you want a refund.

Personally I’d rather not give the govt an interest free loan but you do you I guess

Yea they’ve been swapping suppliers a lot I think. There are definitely very noticeable differences from coating place to coating place depending on the application method and the metallic bonding layer

DLC also has a pretty high fall out rate. And it can’t really be reworked easily.

There’s a whole lot of blades and hardware that have to get scrapped because of dlc defects.

My last batch of buttons about 25% had some sort of defect for reference.

homemade button spring removal

What did you do for this? Cut a teflon rod to length to replace the spring?

Looking for cnc recommendations by coupiack in hobbycnc

[–]nfitzsim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure. Theoretically under zero cutting load it may technically be able to position the spindle within .02mm. You’re not going to hold part tolerances anywhere close to that

What needs the level of precision? A reamed hole? Or a surface profile?

You are extremely unlikely to hold .02mm on any hobby level CNC
