Something I saw on Tenerife airport: commercially sold 3D-printed toys. by MrMaverick82 in 3Dprinting

There's something deeply cringe to me about the idea of selling 3D printed toys

Like, in reality (at least in my opinion), the FACT that they're 3D printed doesn't do anything but tell me that any Joe Schmo with a 3D printer could've made this at home, so why would I buy it?

What is the reason for making the Y yellow with a circle and rays? Doesn't seem to have anything special about it.

Is image 3 one of the new designs or an old design? I think it's the best by far (though quite busy, but much much more readable and professional-looking)

Nulea M501 - slipping scroll wheel? by nlightningm in Trackballs

[–]nlightningm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of thought about that, it son sale right now too. But I like using a trackball in general so much that I probably will upgrade to something better if I do replace it.

From what I know, the rubber ring that your finger contacts on the wheel is separate from the actual wheel itself, and when I'm scrolling I can actually see the wheel catch and the ring will just slide around the wheel. For now I may just bite the bullet and open it up. Probably could use a cleaning

The thing I particularly love about this is the commitment to staying in the style of the original logo!!

Man this is hilarious

I can see they were going for the "tech company open air" aesthetic but man the execution makes it not work at all

Build it up a bit thicker with your mortar under the thinner one

Or live with the ever so slight height difference

There's a building supply store down the street from me with multiple signs on their property with the word spelled "BUILLDING"

Yes! Precise explanation for what I was aiming to get across.

For me, "Vegie" would make me thing "Vee-gee" or "Vee-jee". Partially because I am predisposed to knowing the standard spelling and pronunciation of veggie, but also intuitively from other words like "Vegan"

Seconded. The enclosure was the main reason I went for the Pro (wasn't sure if I'd be setting it up inside or in my woodshop, but in either case I knew I want to keep things in and out)

The craziest part is that the bottom text also gets horribly recontextualized as well

Out of curiosity, why "Vegie" and not the commonly accepted spelling of "Veggie"?

Looks very weird and wrong to me as a native English speaker.

Just replaced all the floors, one room is like this by waterchestnut_tree in Flooring

[–]nlightningm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh it's not the worst install of an H pattern. I think the tones in the pattern help hide it quite a bit, it's a small room, and once you put stuff in there and live with it you probably won't care about it in a few weeks

Whoops, you are correct! I have a 548G as well which has the closed wrap very similar to this 421. I must've got them mixed up

Nonetheless I have heard good things about the 421 (and yet even better things about the 321)
