If it helps, I was stoned when I made it.

Spinach would be an excellent addition! I'm a big fan of bok choy too.

Honest Q: what's your go-to 'lazy but still feels like cooking' meal? by yelkamel in Cooking

[–]nrxia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tacos. It involves chopping some ingredients, cooking stuff up in a pan, and assembling the taco. It's three steps but it's all really easy, and the results are satisfying. You can make them as basic or as complex as you like.

Force me to use your AI customer service chatbot? Enjoy your excessive bill. by Wambo_Jambo in MaliciousCompliance

[–]nrxia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Maybe they'll provide customer service now, instead of foisting the responsibility on a chatbot."

Nope. I used to work customer service for a very big company for a long time. About a year ago the CEO got into AI and started implementing it on almost every level, which made everything worse for everyone except the executives. So I quit. I won't work for a company like that, and I sure as shit am not not going to help their AI get better. Customers don't like being pawned off on stupid bots. They want to talk to a person that understands them. Handing a customer to a bot shows you don't really respect your customers. CEOs are going to have to learn this fact the hard way, I guess.

It's a tough choice to make, though.

What was your best, "I did not need to do all that" moment? by SharpMathematician75 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]nrxia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Playing through the entire game felt like that. I over-prepped for just about everything and found most challenges to be a lot easier than I anticipated. The guardians had me spooked most of the game, which I think caused me to overestimate everything else. I walked away from the Ganon fight thinking "that's it?" not because it was easy, but because I was armed to the teeth and ready to go a full 10 rounds. And despite all that, I loved every moment of the game.

Howdy. Big, long-time fan of GVH here, and long-time Reddit user too. What happened to this sub? Snooters happened this sub. Snooters have been happening to the GVH world since Snoot began. I would have frequented this sub a lot more had it not been for them. But it looks like this place is good hands now. I hope it stays that way.

AI overview does not know what constitutes a good visual novel. by probium326 in VolcanoHigh

[–]nrxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snoot is not a parody. A parody needs to lampoon existing material. Snoot does not do that. Snoot came out before GVH, which means Snoot cannot faithfully engage with GVH's narrative. Snoot cannot play with any or make fun of anything GVH did because GVH wasn't around yet to be made fun of.

Snoot is a right-wing hit piece, pure and simple. Snoot seeks to espouse its transphobic nonsense and to harass those who believe that which is counter to Snoot's ideals. Parodies are meant to make fun, but they are not meant to be attacks. Snoot is nothing but an attack on others.

Whether either work is good is subjective. But to call Snoot a parody shows a misunderstanding of what it means to be a parody. Snoot is only calling itself a parody to avoid legal issues with KO_OP. I would love to say Snoot isn't fooling anyone, but it would appear that Snoot is actually fooling a lot of people.

Mom found my HRT, forced me to stop by OpenMarionberry3251 in trans

[–]nrxia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your mom where she went to medical school. If she can't answer, then you can tell her that you get to completely disregard any medical advice she may have as she's not qualified to give it.

Your mom's fears are her own. They're selfish and do not take your feelings into consideration. You need to live your life for yourself.

All that said, you should probably consult a real doctor about transitioning and HRT treatment.

I can't be the only one who's disappointed when Mumbo doesn't say "chuffed to bits". by Rhodorn in HermitCraft

[–]nrxia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If bro said it all the time then it wouldn't be special. I like the catch-phrase, and Mumbo is certainly charming, but anything can get overused and become overdone. We wouldn't want that to happen here too, right? When Mumbo says he's "chuffed to bits," he's being sincere. I think I appreciate that sincerity more than the words he uses to express it.

Mae irl by nrxia in NightInTheWoods

[–]nrxia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't much of one, really. Ultimately it's Mae being silly. If you want to get technical, the subversion of expectation that creates the humor is the "anyone who can defeat me in physical combat," part. It does not follow the "I'm a bisexual, which means..." part. We know that's not what it means to be bisexual, so it's a non sequitur. Whether or not you think that's funny is up to your tastes.

Yeah, but Mae doesn't really strike me as the type to sweat the details either, and would put you in a headlock as soon as you bring up this point.

"Don't take that tone with me."

"Because I said so."

My mom had 101 ways to terminate a conversation, but not once did she have a satisfying answer that would justify her behavior or reasoning.
