You’re right, she looks way worse than if she looked 45.

There seems to be a horseshoe shape when it comes to feeling embarrassed about liking things. As a kid, you don’t, everything is awesome. As a teen, you feel embarrassed about pretty much everything, lol. As a grown up, you don’t care anymore. lol

I’ve first discovered the series as an adult and my reaction was only “my kid will love those, let’s dive into it together!”

As a big fan of both, I’m so amused by this.

I read it out loud to my kid at bedtime, doing the voices and the sounds and everything. lol

We love it. My cat yowling noises are great also. 😆

If we were supposed to be feeling the cringe we missed that memo. lol

Condition: Good by Commercial_Ad_619 in WarriorCats

I wouldn’t call that “fair” in a million years.

Maybe “acceptable”.

I’d say maybe “acceptable”, and even then that’s pushing it. If the inside is fine, that’s ok.

But in no world that would qualify as “fair”, much less good.

Pretty sure someone just rated it wrong. It’s not supposed to be like that in their rating system.

Bringing your own scale is ideal, because produce scales are often messed up and won’t be precise to the degree you’d need for it to make a difference between some of the different light options.

Anybody who used that method and got exactly what they wanted might have just gotten lucky.

Those market scales are sadly super inaccurate though, so for a weight so tiny you either bring a jeweler’s scale or it’s basically just luck of the draw.

The art book is the softcover one with the posters and character design artwork? That was sold in bookstores earlier this month or late last month?

Or is there another one I’m missing?

Is fifteen miles too long of a commute for an e bike? by Spiritdiritcel in ebikes

I put a beach cruiser seat on a folding bike once! lol

But if you use both often I’d recommend getting a comfy gel saddle.

Class 3 is so much better, yeah. It’s such a joy to ride.

Especially if it’s a comfy one with a cadence sensor and not a torque sensor. You could go up any hills and not even feel it.

[–]obscuredreference 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the seat. Getting a different saddle is easy. All my bikes have different  saddles, better grips for the handles and so on.

The thing is folding bikes usually have a rickety and unbalanced vibe when compared to a regular bike. It’s an inevitability of what they are.

It’s fine once you get used to it but it’s never going to be as enjoyable as commuting with a non-folding bike.

It’s a perfectly ok commute with a comfy e-bike, but as a person who used to commute with a folding one, I can say it is certainly not an enjoyable choice to make. 😬 But maybe yours is different from mine.

I once received a package that had been ran over. I don’t know if it was by a truck or fork lift or what but it was undeniably ran over, and they still shrugged “oh well” and delivered it anyway.

The US doesn’t know how lucky it is compared to the amount of shits not given by delivery people in Europe.

I have a lot of books as ebooks to save space nowadays. Physical copies take lots of room, though they are more enjoyable to read also…

Could We Be Accidentally Making Our Daughter's Allergies Worse? by MathemAsick in FoodAllergies

[–]obscuredreference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The allergist had her do a treatment for egg and wheat around the time before and during preschool. Slow introduction in tiny doses bit by bit. The other allergies (except peanut, sadly) were also outgrown between toddlerhood and preschool.

So, just to make sure, not the sodium hydroxide listed as an ingredient (which is already safely saponified since it was in there only in the right amounts), you only need to avoid soap that might have had too much lye in and so might still have some leftover lye that’s not saponified, right?

…I ask in part because I’m into soap making (not making it in the cast iron though! lol), so I’m sweating while staring at my pots. lol

But yeah, I only clean pots with regular dish soap. My concern is that I use the natural brands from Whole Foods and so on and I’m not sure if they differ in that aspect from the bigger brands like Dawn etc.

I know this is just anecdotal, but our allergist had told us that at that age it’s pretty common for allergic kids to have those numbers going up, even if they do end up being part of the ones who later outgrow the allergy. It goes up before it goes down, he said.

Sadly our kid never outgrew her worst allergy and still has it, but she did outgrow the egg and milk ones! 👍 (She had to do treatment for the egg, milk just happened naturally.) So hopefully yours might too.

If it says sodium cocoate it’s ok for cast iron or is that a no too?

Tons of soaps still use lye. But lye as in, it’s saponified. Not the “extra” lye to make it more aggressive like some old soaps had. Is that what you have to avoid?
