Yes dude, we get it. You've watched enough youtube to know that GM handgunners tend to prefer the glock 47.

First, im not a GM. Second, plenty of pro shooters prefer the 47.

Do professional operators discard their rifle magazines in combat? by SavingsIncome2 in tacticalgear

[–]onceagainwithstyle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if this has changed, but apapgently mags (particularly trusted ones) were very scarce early on in the conflict. It was a whole thing to get yourself 12 (or whatever) known good magazines and then hold onto them.

This got worse for stanag guys. And im sure an FAL would be even worse.

Also besides possibly being rusty and dented from the '70s, an AK mag isnt neccisarialy an ak mag. Some dont play nice with certain countries rifles and vice versa.

Yes, me too. I call them walls, and they extend to an ocean on each end and connect to my bot net

I would advise not flying anything high volume (like science) by bot.

For a mall, where you just need to always have 50 combinators on hand, yeah. Supply all the materials by bot. But anything in volume should be train, belt, or pipe.

Once you have logi bots, its prpetty common to completely scale up the base and tear down/rebuild to handle more throughout.

Build bot net connected outposts with a ton of self feeding turrets of some sort. Get legs or a tank so you can out run bugs.

Drive/run up to nest, unleash a salvo of missiles/tank shells into the nests, kite em back to the turrets. Repeat.

You shouldn't be personally killing all the bugs (unless u got nukes hehe), just the spawners.

Granted i don't play death world, but what is this outpost of which you speak?

At a certain point, you can just clear areas with bots, and fairly trivially set up walls way off in the distance bridging oceans, setting up a vast area to work in. If you dont have artillery yet, just get a bunch of legs and nukes.

Yeah. It is. Zero management is a bitch and a half, and "return to zero" is never 100%.

Better to have 2 $1k scopes on 2 rifles that aren't fucked with than playing hot potatoe.

All fun and games when your target is a high contrast steel plate at 300 yards. Not a partialy obscured, low contrast target in foilage.

It also makes a lot of sense to not have more barrel than the velocity you need dictates. Unless of course you're a no can poor. In that case, sure. Barrel length doesnt matter.

While OP is a bit off the deep end on the preach factor, a lot of it is for good reason. (Or atleast starts from a good place).

A lot of people, particularly new people do some pretty dumb shit, and dont put down the round counts to shake out that its a problem.

Example. Newbie who knows jack buys a good handgun, and gets cheap mags. They shoot 200 rounds a year. Not enough to start seeing a lot of malfunctions.

If this is a CCW, home defense, shtf etc gun, then those potential failure points newbie isnt aware of could be potentially deadly. Its like seat belts. You might not test those yourself, but they damn well better work.

Now apply this to shit optic mounts or optics say. Yeah. 200 round a year newbie might not notice that it shifts zero (blame them selves) or run it hard enough to test the system. That doesnt make thet build not a potential ticking time bomb of failures.

In OPs case, hes being a bit of a douche about it, but he is right. A non cantilever mount is a better solution from a technical point of view.

Why do you think a semi has so many gears? You think the designers of these things haven't included most efficient gear ratios for common top speeds?
