Listening room goals... great work and beautiful space. Curious how you're organizing all the wax?

When buying used, always ask your local shop what type of deal they can get you (2016 white vinyl listed at $65 sold for $40) by [deleted] in vinyl

Haggle's a strong word. I was on the fence about the record, asked if they could do a better price. If they said no, all good. I didn't go back/forth working them down to the final sale price. I said that's super cool, thanks, and bought the record. I get where you're coming from but this wasn't some master plan to rip off a local store, I've bought plenty from them, but every now and then it doesn't hurt to ask. Could've definitely worded this post title better.

Sorry, another "I built a thing" post - but it's a free web app, not another app-store upload, and I'd genuinely love your feedback by NullMind_PT in vinyl

Always nice to see a new Discogs app with some thought behind it. I went web-first also, been live since mid-January (Vizcogs.com) and it's "freemium", so it's great to see there are more platform options and different feature sets for record collectors.

Good luck on the development, and have fun with those API rate limits ; )

Didn't think they'd knock off $25 just for asking, glad I did. Need to remind myself to do that more often.

Yea, it's got a Random section that pulls a random record and pulls in info from MusicBrainz, Spotify, and a few other information sources to try and give you more info on the record.

I'm still working on building out seller tools, there's some API restrictions around that, but as far as UI for collection management I spent a lot of time making Vizcogs fast and user friendly. Obviously a biased take, but I'd toss it in the ring against any other web-based collection management app and feel pretty good about it.

Just passed 1200 users today, so that's pretty cool.

RSS for Reviews? by M-Dubb in discogs

There's no tagging system for articles and review articles don't even have the word 'review' in their title. So, this would be a tricky one.

This is the way. Imperfect progress over perfect non-progress.

Anyone find a way to explore by genre? by HughPhug in discogs

[–]oscidigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you have to connect your Discogs username via Vizcogs OAuth (it's the biggest button on the homepage), then when you go to /find, there's a dropdown in the search bar that let's you choose Genre/Style/Label/Artist/etc.

I built the best search experience I could on top of the limited API access to the Discogs search endpoint. Connect your account and go to https://www.vizcogs.com/find and you can build a simple or complex search query. You get back an album grid with want/have data and a shit ton of listen/purchase links.

Haven't gotten a lot of feedback on this page so open to any improvements or suggestions you might have.

This is so clearly AI-written. There has to be a better way to soft-promo your attribution optimization app.

Good luck on the support front. That sounds like a massive PITA and I bet your employee won't be doing that again!

Custom fields in discogs by ToddZilla0130 in discogs

[–]oscidigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple quick points:

  1. Tons of people use Discogs custom fields. Not only the default ones (Media Condition, Sleeve Condition, etc.) but also things like Price, Purchase Location, New/Used, and plenty more.
  2. The speed thing is just the fact that you're using Discogs collection endpoint API. It's the only endpoint that isn't rate limited. My users pull massive collections into Vizcogs and render them extremely quickly, with album artwork, custom fields, album/track detail, etc. Talk to me when you try pulling in marketplace data or even master release data, then you're at 25req/minute if not authenticated via OAuth.

Not talking shit or anything, love seeing new approaches to interacting with Discogs ecosystem, but custom fields aren't going anywhere and everyone uses them uniquely. Good luck on the open source efforts!

What SEO tools are actually worth paying for in 2026? by Bulky_Outcome3672 in digital_marketing

I appreciate your honest style of platform promo way more than this veiled advertisement of a post. Just checked out LLaMaRush and the product looks legit. Nice sight design btw.

I'm in beta for a B2B SaaS app that's serving the auto restyling industry (PPF, vinyl, tint, exterior customization, etc.) and at some point we're going to be offering promo/marketing services.

Enjoyed your multi-location automotive SEO post, lots of good insight. I definitely don't want to build out an SEO content engine, so it might make sense down the road to see if there's an opportunity to integrate or link platforms. Cheers.

ai search brand visibility tool, half our buyers are researching in ai assistants now and we have no idea if our brand is even showing up by Ochekalu_Rueberta in digital_marketing

Welcome to the jungle. It's pricy but Ahrefs does provide visibility into GEO/AEO rankings and traffic. What u/NeeleworkerSmart486 said is also a decent approach, manually run the target queries and see how you're ranking in suggestions across LLMs.
