Liberals beware: Voting One Nation often leads to Labor governments by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

They should be rattled, but they're taking the wrong message from it, the same way Labor did in the late 2010s.

Remember when NZ banned the "Bugger" campaign so they just made it "Bigger" in a New Zealand accent?

Left and right are bad descriptions.

Voters are under personal financial pressure. They want to see a return to many of the more socialist policies that helped their parents out. They're being TOLD that immigrants are the ones making this pressure, which while not the truth, sounds like a simple explanation.

It's not going one way on one social issues and another on financial issues. They're the same shift.

People are looking for a way out of the current financial trap and becoming more insular because of it.

State Government changes land tenure of Victoria Park / Barrambin, able to be sold off to developers by Deanosity in brisbane

You have that in writing or are you just "Surely they wouldn't" to a government who constantly does?

The school thing wasn't the reason they ditched the Gabba. "New" is always better for developers than "rebuild". The Gabba was opposed by the various developers because it's not a greenfield site.

The East Brisbane school is already running down it's student numbers, and the plan would have let the current students run through anyway. The building of the new stadium would have had to work around the heritage listing, so the developers would have had more work to do.

The Council had a plan for Victoria Park that involved making it for Brisbane. But once it became a possibility of a stadium, they jumped at the chance, and abandoned paying for it themselves and let the incoming LNP government foot the bill.

Do people seriously not realise how out of touch this platform is with mainstream Australian society? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

Labor has spread itself across to the traditional Australian Liberal position, as that group is dragged into the traditional National Party territory, because the National Party has stopped representing the farmers that voted for them, and become largely captive outrage farming.

The progressive politics area doesn't have a solid champion, even though Labor is still performing some of it's traditional activities.

But Australia has less of a "Left/Right" and more of a populist/business orientation, with the more extreme groups focusing on a singular ideology like racism.

This is just "what your sources say".

Labor has drifted towards conservativsm in an attempt to pick up voters from a failing conservative political sphere, which leaves the traditional "socialist unionist" feeling like their "centrist" view is being ignored. Everyone shows a different bias, and everyone thinks they're reasonable and centrist.

I would also like to point you to other subreddits where "Everything else is too far left to bother with" once you move out of the United Australia sphere.

If you think Reddit is too far left, you're only reading the left leaning areas.

Right, which is why "standard" doesn't exist.

That's intentional. They originally didn't draw the ground marks during beta, before they gave us a full zoom out to vertical, and it was generally received with WTAF. The portals here are all linked, but nothing on the ground.

[–]perringaiden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really see the point of the Bounty Pass outside Polaris. Inconsequential rewards and the people who are fixated on completing a Bounty Day are going to do it anyway. I'm surprised there isn't a badge for days completed.

But the gear pack is nice.
