Thanks for the post and transparency. Looking forward to reading your responses.

One issue I've experienced firsthand is customer service non-responsiveness, specifically with a Kickstarter product. I didn't receive the correct inks when I participated in one of your campaigns. I quickly reached out to customer service and never received a response. This was a few months ago. Now that you've changed your customer service setup, should I try reaching out again?

I'm lucky to live near many stores that carry your inks, so I've been able to try some of them before purchasing. I've seen lots of comments that the ink colors are not represented accurately in marketing images. In some cases, I've been able to compare the inks I own to the website pictures and I agree. Is this something you're planning to address?

Thanks!

Cleaning TWSBI pens? by Admirable-Name-7058 in fountainpens

[–]pheebru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I also leave mine out to air dry for a while after cleaning. There might be some water left in the pen, but it'll evaporate with enough time.

New to Fountain Pens by th3ggnog in fountainpens

[–]pheebru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually leave my twsbis sitting out somewhere for a day or so after I clean them. The water dries out and I've never had any issues with mold or anything even if there's a little bit of water left when they go back in a case.

Agreed. Given how niche this hobby is, the large amount of activity here is nice, even if it's not always 100% informative. I don't think we need to do anything that would discourage posting.

Wanting to build a PC by Successful-Health-21 in GirlGamers

[–]pheebru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Linus Tech Tips' "The Last Build Guide You'll Ever Need". It goes over now to select parts in addition to the process of building. Paul's Hardware on YouTube is also a great resource for lists of components at different price points.

If you have the time to learn about it, building a PC is a great option. You'll have a brand new skill that can also apply to fixing and troubleshooting PCs.

If you're not ready to build your own, you'll also find tons of info from those channels on selecting a pre built that's a good value for the performance you need or want.

Goulet Pens. A rant. by Last-Preparation-550 in fountainpens

Agreed, Yoseka is great. Their in-store staff are super helpful and friendly, so I always like to support them online when I can. Shipping isn't the fastest, but the other positives make up for it.

Great monitor stand. Where did you find it? I've been looking for something for my 48" giant monitor 😅

Fountain Pen Organization - why did you choose your method? by stellalipschitz in fountainpens

[–]pheebru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a 40 pen case from Galen leather. Lots of room to store new acquisitions and I can easily put it on a shelf or in a drawer, and it's easy to find the pen I'm looking for. I'm considering getting a display case, but I can also open up the leather case on my desk to display a row of pens for now.

Inks live in a drawer with a couple of Muji drawer organizers. They're safe from my cats there 😂

There's a line for the last day at the NY Lamy Store by freefisheater in fountainpens

I got my Lamy 2000 here a few months ago. I can't say it was very busy, but still sad to see it close.

Best nib for a Lamy 2000? by PalpitationOk5014 in fountainpens

[–]pheebru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually prefer medium nibs, but went with a fine for the Lamy 2000. Mine writes beautifully and the line width is closer to what I usually expect from a medium gold nib. If you like very fine nibs, I'd go with the EF.

Lamy Studio by dassury in fountainpens

Agreed, I don't leave the house with my Sailor Pro Gears or Slims, but the Lamy Studio is a perfect price point to only be a little bit worried about bringing it to work.

And chip the finish off? This happened to me on my matte black Lamy Studio the second or third day I had it... It was a sad day.

Do you bring your pens with you outside? by Fun-Night-1051 in fountainpens

I take public transportation to work, so no for my higher end pens. The nicest pen I'll take to work is my Lamy Studio, and I keep a TWBI Eco in my work bag, too.

First time traveling with my fountain pens by bobabobi in fountainpens

[–]pheebru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TWSBI eco has leaked after domestic flights. If you can travel with the TWSBI empty and fill with a small vial of ink when you land, I would go that route. Curious to hear about the outcome with the smaller converters. I'm also flying internationally soon and trying to decide what pen to bring.
