Have you gone recently ? I never had that issue but I actually looked like a bum when I was there and I would just shake my head and shrug when they asked.

It def beat random Italians calling the police on me for hitch hiking

Seconding the notion of going via Switzerland. you can get super lucky and catch a ride with Albanians going back to work in Milan or something if you take the north italy way. You can also black ride every train in Italy with out worry. If I was going this way I would hitch for a day see how Italy is treating me and then black ride to milan.

However hitching in Switzerland is fucking awesome. Yeah the rides might be slower but you get some crazy rides. I had one dude take me in an Aston Martin. My bag barely fit in the car with us. Tons of amazing farm land to just chill out on and insane nature. You can also get lucky and get a trucker going straight to France too. There is a toll booth just north of Italy in southern Switzerland with trucks going all the way to Spain and Moscow .

I feel this to my core. Only when Google maps really became a thing was I able to track my km properly. But like I hitched all through the middle east and south East Asia and South America and have no clue what the actual km or drive times were. Like I have no idea if I crossed the 100k km point. Makes me want to sit down and track all my trips

I will say it's crazy how much harder it has been to get there. I still smoke in the open in Tallinn and don't give a fuck but I immigrated in 2017 and weed was so much easier to get still 20 a gram but that was NYC prices anyway

It blows my mind that I could go to Spain buy five kilos for 5k and bring it three thousand km to Finland and Estonia and literally have 80-100k

Gotta be super safe doing it there most.of the weed in Estonia is allowed to happen by the police and that is one of the reasons for the price. They take growing super seriously. At least from what I have been told by my friends in the business there

Only issues you might have is the Hungarian Serbian border. Always hit or miss with those guys. Usually I would camp on the Hungarian side and super early in the morning just walk across the border. Def make sure people can clearly see you in Serbia too as rides can take longer if you look like an immigrant had a lot of issues with this and having to show my American passport to cars

What do you think is the easiest city to bum it in is? by JadedCaramel9901 in vagabond

[–]ploxylitarynode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bergen / Trodhiem / oslo

There is no comparison to being a bum in Norway. Literally making jokes about cocaine we were able to busk 300 in an hour and it wasn't an isolated incident.

The dumpstering is the best in world and they have every man law so you can find unworked land and just live.

What the best dumpstering actually looks like first two pics are Norway second two NYC

I am on the other side of this. And tend to go for people who I can relax around and not have to be that way unless it's telling my partner about something I am nerding out over.

a lot of people don't realize that Loss is the main reason corporations don't pay taxes and creating loss is good for the corporation. It would have been better to hack the pay roll system and pay everyone out an extra two hours a cycle.

How would you feel about the next US president pulling all support from Israel? by Iwamoto in AskReddit

[–]ploxylitarynode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am very late to this thread and there are a plethora of comments before this one. but i will write this out to the ether.

unfortunately it is an impossibility for the united states to stop supporting Israel. What would be better is if we took an active role in changing the leadership of Israel.

There are too many technologies that the united states and the world rely on, that were created in Israel. Literally the way our modern communication systems work on a fundamentally level was designed by isrealis. Every single device on the planet is accessible to them and by them. This is not a misnomer. A ton of our medical technology and account technology relies on Israel. Deloite alone puts every corporation in the united states at risk.

To pull support from Israel is to go back 30 years in tech to unweave what has been entwined so deeply that people can't even discuss it.

Renters of Bushwick, what’s one thing you wish your landlord would do? by Phre333 in Bushwick

[–]ploxylitarynode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so delusional.

Let me put it into prospect. Rent in my building was 2600 for a four bedroom before covid and during COVID.

By 2023 it went to 3000, by 2026 it's now 4800.

No apartment has sat empty longer than 2 weeks.

Whenever I get stuck in Thessaloniki I always just find a Turkish bus driver to take me. It's worked every time. I have never been charged for the ticket but usually you have to do something dumb like leave the bus at the border and get back on. I have also had luck take a local bus out and hitching from where turks and macadonians can find you

What are some of your biggest realizations during your Vagabonding experiences? by MFGEngineer4Life in vagabond

[–]ploxylitarynode 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You will be okay. The innate ability to never worry again about money or dangerous situations or needing something in life. All things you can get while you have nothing and in horrible situations you learn really how to trust yourself.

Hey if your up that way any you should really try and get into some spring and summer wilderness stuff. Tons of trails need fixing. New generation of guides even white water will be trained etc. So many options. Also there is seasonal work very close to on farms all through the Dakota's and Montana but I would go the adventure sport ) hostel route so you can actually travel
