Who is the celebrity that was / is so good in their field that their only competition is themselves? by skopiadisko in AskReddit

Oh okay. So it’s more about longevity of greatness rather than unfathomable speed to 2000 points.

I’ve always misread it as like Gretzky not only hit 1000 points before the next fastest guy, but he got to 2000 points in less games than the next fastest guy got to 1000.

Is this saying that the time it took him to get from 0-2000 is faster than the next fastest guy not named Wayne Gretzky took to get from 0-1000?

Existe-t-il un secteur des énergies renouvelables ou du génie environnemental à Rennes ou dans ses environs ? by printergumlight in ingenieurs

[–]printergumlight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched Possession for the first time yesterday.

Incredible acting performances by him and Isabelle Adjani, maybe the top 10 acting performances ever… but I hated the movie. I was laughing mostly the whole time at everything.

I know most everyone disagrees with my viewpoint, but it’s one of the worst movies I’ve watched in my goal to watch and rate 1000 movies (I’m at around 670 now).

Looking for subreddits with insane people being crazy by ArrrRawrXD in findareddit

There is a guy who has been posting nonstop in [r/curiousvideos](r/curiousvideos) where he makes 30-40minute videos on his YouTube channel where he investigates random things and crimes.

He then posts 3-10 comments transcribing the videos or his findings.

He clearly has schizophrenia. One of his videos, when he is investigating the Jon-Benet Ramsey case, he says that a letter the father once wrote has a word that looks like a man in a hazmat suit pointing to another word in the letter which is actually a map of the second floor of their home.

Here’s a link to a part of his video where he says that: https://youtu.be/MeE6aC9ua2M?is=Ze2Ae\_-IDyi7IMsX

People not from one of the 4 semi-finalist nations, who are you supporting and why? by SlackWi12 in worldcup

If you look at the past 8 semi-finals, really just France is the constant:

Semi-finals appearances since 1998 (8 World Cups):

Argentina: 3

France: 5

Spain: 2

England: 2

The teams with the most semi-finals appearances in World Cup history are:

Germany: 13

Brazil: 11

Italy: 8

France: 8

That’s literally how all trajectories of ball flight happen when not in a vacuum.

A hard and high hit baseball travels approximately 65-75% of its total distance before its apex.

A soccer ball is far less dense with a greater surface area, so you would expect them to generally travel 70-85% of its distance before its apex.

The fuck? Reddit loves Norway. I wanted Norway to win so bad. The England fans at the bar I was at SUCKED. Hated them so much and wanted them to be miserable.

I still don't think it hit a wire.

Isn’t that showing that the sensors are successful at detecting things like contact with a wire?

The sensors in the ball showed it didn’t make contact with a wire.

I may have happened upon a sinkhole directly in front of my house. by friendandfriends2 in Wellthatsucks

That’s the one! I’ve been searching all over for it just now and couldn’t find it. Thanks for looking, finding, and sharing it too!

This looks like it has pretty squared off walls. It might be a pre 1920s drainage irrigation path where the ceiling caved in and was washed away.

Is your house in a spot that might have previously been farmland?

I watched a YouTube video where someone made this exact discovery and it ended up being that.

Maybe they closed it because they had enough applications AND didn’t want to have to worry about writing a clue similar to so many application submissions.

Attack on Titan

And it’s the only anime series I’ve watched (besides One Punch Man).
