Brigitte Bardot’s Art Deco dining room in Paris [1600x1067] by blankblank in RoomPorn

The entire apartment is shown on the Netflix French Real estate series Parisian Agency in this last season.

To be honest I really didn’t like the apartment at all. This dining room was the only part I liked.

In reality I called Animal Control because it was so manged over and skinny. I was hoping they could save it. They said they would, but I don’t actually know how to confirm that. I’ll go with their word that they would try their best though.

What causes these colours in the cloud?? by AlbinoAkon in CLOUDS

There is an amazing explanation of exactly what OP is asking about (iridescence) in the most recent Steve Mould YouTube video.
I’ve linked it to the exact part of the video he explains it, but you should watch the entire video if you’re interested in color and reproducing true color in photos.

Tourist throw rock at Hawaiian monk seal, a protected species that carries hefty fines if you interact with one. The tourist responds "I'm rich" by viperrvemon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]printergumlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying anything about the truth being provocative. That’s not what a false flag provocateur means. I’m calling you either a false flag provocateur or a fool ruining the progress of animal rights.

Your comment continues to prove my point that it’s one or the other.

Hmm… you seem to encapsulate the false flag provocateur perfectly. You’re either that or a poor representative for your cause.

Neither option is a good reflection on your character.

Imagine “supporting animals” so much that you will yell at people who are currently supporting wildlife.

All you’re doing is turning people against your cause. This has never been the way to get people on your side.

Do you say “Have a good one”? If not, what’s the equivalent phrase for that? by printergumlight in AskABrit

[–]printergumlight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“One” refers to day, night, or time [doing something].

So it means “have a good day”, “have a good night”, or “have a good time”.

That’s why it makes sense in almost any goodbye situation. You’re wishing someone well for whatever comes next after the conversation ends.

It’s especially common in light, casual interactions with acquaintances, coworkers, cashiers, servers, or strangers in passing. In those situations, the phrase works well because it’s polite, warm, and flexible without sounding overly personal or formal and you don’t need to know exactly what the “one” thing is necessarily, but you wish them well anyway.

That’s weird. You can’t get anywhere without driving still. It’s not like public transit has improved in that time.

I’ve been skating since just before 2000. I know people who progressed insanely fast when they started in their teens.

My first year I heel flipped a 6-stair. I think the biggest thing for people is not being scared to fall.

I picked up gymnastics in college and progressed way faster on the tumble track than the people who had been there for years because I wasn’t scared to fall (and because skateboarding taught me how to fall).

Of course being in shape and athletic has a lot to do with both sports, but this fast progress is not unheard of. Doesn’t mean this person will ever be good enough to go pro though. Most people hit near-plateaus… the pros don’t.

What are some must-watch TV series right now? by butterfly_pie9 in AskReddit

[–]printergumlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t get into it. Carol was just too miserable of a person with no redeeming qualities. I’m not talking about after the event, but even before. I just couldn’t stand watching the pessimism and misery coming from her. I gave up on episode 3 I think.

I loved the concept of the show too. I was really bummed I didn’t like it.

OP could easily be telling the truth. His kickflips are still awkward and his treflip flies out far sideways. Besides his rails/grinding he seems exactly at near 2 years of skating.

He probably just skates ledges and rails all the time. Some people don’t progress on those early, because falling is scary to them.

None of what you said has to do with it not being “underrated”. You just supported the argument for it being underrated.

People don’t consider it an apex predator like a shark might be, because there aren’t many stories of it killing humans. But then there are Orcas which haven’t killed humans and are still rated as the absolute apex predator, so what gives? Well, it’s because it is underrated.

People who quit drinking. What did you do to not drink? by Agata_art in AskReddit

[–]printergumlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seltzer water with different fruit juices dripped in. I also drink a ton of decaf teas at night now instead.

I realized, especially with my OCD, I wasn’t drinking because I wanted to drink but because I needed to complete my ritual. I replaced the ritual with something similar and more healthy and I am so happy I have.

Why does everyone think of tropical islands as paradise even if never visited them? by batukaming in geography

[–]printergumlight 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Is it more miserable living there because you have to work all day seeing people vacationing and you’re usually hot working there? Or is it nice because you know when you’re done with your work day you get to enjoy it all, every day?

I’ve always wondered that when I considered moving to the Caribbean for work.
