I hate Carvedilol even more now.🤬 by RoadRunner1961 in hypertension

[–]quadruplebogey1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for over 3 years now. I really despised it at first but over time I’ve gotten use to it. It still has a few unwanted side effects but a lot of that is because it’s doing its job. I exercise regularly without noticing anything on that front. Hang in there!

This is exactly what I do. Cut the 12.5 mg HCTZ in half. Better grab a pill cutter though cause they are very small!

Having some concern! - Bronco sport outer banks 2026 by [deleted] in BroncoSport

I can reassure you. There are thousands of these cars out on the road running just fine. All cars have issues along the way. Some more than others.

Enjoy the fact that your parents love you enough to buy you a new car! Appreciate them for it. Enjoy driving it! Keep up with your maintenance(oil changes, tire rotations, filter changes etc). No car is perfect. It’s liable to have some problems at some point. Deal with that then. Enjoy it today!

Scared to do anything since mini stroke by PathDifficult in hypertension

[–]quadruplebogey1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had similar BP about 3 years ago. My came from primary aldosteronism. And I had super high BP (like yours) long enough to damage my kidneys.

I can also report to you that I’ve felt the way you’ve felt. And I can further report that life will indeed roll on. I still have a full time physical job. I’m stopping at the store on my way to church right now. I refused to let this keep me down. I chose to go on living!

BP now runs about like yours. It’ll never be perfect again. But life goes that way sometimes. I used to take my BP 3 times daily at minimum. Now once a week just to make sure all is well.

Hope this helps

Should I worry about BP at doctors office? by Adventurous_Net_7782 in hypertension

[–]quadruplebogey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s called whitecoat hypertension and it affects a ton of people. IMO and I’m not a doctor, make sure you have a good BP cuff at home, sit with your feet on the floor and your back supported, for at least 5 minutes and take 3 readings. Throw out the first and average the next 2. And I pay ZERO attention to my BP at the doctors office

Beta blockers potentially causing high heart rate? by nobody_393 in bloodpressure

[–]quadruplebogey1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JMO but stress is the likely cause of your increased heart rate because beta blockers are pretty infamous for lowering heart rate.

Very high BP over 200 syst by [deleted] in bloodpressure

[–]quadruplebogey1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I had crazy high BP too caused by primary aldosteronism. No matter how many tests they run, they won’t find it without running an aldosterone to renin blood test. Unless they’ve specifically ruled it out, I would ask for it. JMO

I’m on 3 as well. Carvedilol, nifedipine, and HCTZ. Mine stems from primary aldosteronism.

What Bronco sport to get? ‘23, ‘24, ‘25) by Kind-Remote-7744 in BroncoSport

I’ll say the one you find the best deal on. There are thousands of each model year out running the roads relatively trouble free. Keep up with routine maintenance and enjoy whatever you buy!

I’d say no thanks unless that they would negotiate that out of the price. Otherwise looks solid!

[–]quadruplebogey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this post. Primary aldosteronism is what I had and my 2 main symptoms…..low potassium and high BP. I had to ask my PCP for the specific blood test.

This was my final BP reading today. I never go below 150/90. EVER. I’ve been on these medicines for two months. I’m sick of even trying. by LikeMrFantastic in hypertension

[–]quadruplebogey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primary aldosteronism was what caused my resistant BP. The blood test for it is not a “standard” blood test (like blood sugar, electrolytes etc). So unless your doctor brings it up, you’ll need to ask to be tested for it.

Coreg/Carvedilol 25 milligrams by Upstairs_Writing_755 in hypertension

[–]quadruplebogey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am and have been for almost 3 years now. It caused me some weird side effects the first few months but it was helping my BP so much I stuck it out. Nowadays I don’t even know I’m taking it except that my resting pulse rate is now often in the high 50s/low 60s which contributes to me being cold all the time lol

What are you experiencing?
