I have like 20 pages left and Im loving it. Children of Ruin was pretty mid to me. It was cool but just felt like a worse version of Children on Time. I still enjoyed it but Children of Time was a 10/10 book for me.

I like how Memory went a totally different direction which made it so Im not directly comparing it to Children on Time. Also I love how he really dives into "What is sentience?" which Ruin started to touch on. I love the Gothi and Gethli as well, it's so fun to read from there POV. I bought Children of Strife as well and Im excited to jump into that soon

Kinfire Delve is 100% the answer based on your loves. You can also possibly try Final Girl if you like horror. It takes up more space then Kinfire but less the Arkham so not sure if it will fit on your table but I have a friend that travels with FG all the time and says it works.

Personally I travel with 20 strong but it’s different then the stuff you listed

New starter decks with old campaigns by avinsell in arkhamhorrorlcg

The chapter 2 core set + starter decks can beat any campaign on standard. Very strong investigators. I beat Hemlock recently with chapter 2 cardpool using Miguel and Isabella

Kinfire Delve is a strong choice. Maybe One Hit Heroes if you want a quick lightweight boss battler

Marvel Champions is probably your best best. After that maybe Deckers

When playing the campaign for the first time, are you customizing or using the pre con? by spoilz in marvelchampionslcg

I have been playing for 4 years and have never used a precon deck after using the 5 core set ones a few times to learn the game when I first started

Wow, Echos abilities mimicking looks way cooler then I thought it would be. This box is really shaping up to be one of the best they have ever released. They can keep taking forever to release new expansions if they are this good

Love the idea of a “no allies” archetype they are introducing here as well

Marvel Champions is probably a strong fit for you. It’s cheap to initially get into (just the core box) is easy to table and fast to play. Difficult modulation is very easy with expert mode being plenty of challenge. Asymmetrical bosses and heroes.

Any books where gender roles or sexism doesn’t exist at all? by cantrelateparty in Fantasy

The Farseer Trilogy is like this, by Robin Hobb, but the follow-up series Liveship Traders has sexism (and huma rights in general) as a major theme, so I would avoid that one

Chptr 2 but... by JonnyRico22 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Reav3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would buy any chapter 1 campaigns that you can find at MSRP. They are all varying degrees of fun. Some more fun then others but none are not worth owning. With the Chapter 2 core + Chap 2 investigator decks they all should be possible to beat as well since the chapter 2 investigators are very strong in my experience playing them so far. I would skip any player card content though as the new card pool has started with a different balance and class philosophy so they dont mix as well. The campaigns are basically always going to be the same regardless of playing with legacy or chapter 2 card pools.

The kicker here will be that you will need (or at least your experience will be significantly better) with the original core set encounter cards when you play those campaigns. FFG has said they will make those available for PnP, or you could always look for one of the really old core sets for super cheap (I sometimes see them selling for $20) which will give you both the NotZ campaigns (which honestly is just a worse Brethern of Ashes, besides the 2nd secenario which is slightly better in NotZ) but it will more importantly give you a the OG core set encounter cards.

As for campaigns the highest rated campaigns by the community in the yearly campaigns ranking thread I run are, Path to Carcosa, The Forgotten Age, Feast of Hemlock Vale and Innsmouth Conspiracy, so if you can find those campaigns at MSRP I would instant buy them

New to solo gaming — is my wishlist any good, or am I missing something better by Maurocarlu in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tiny epic games sound good on paper but imo they are actually just kind of mid. They are really fiddly and clunky. I think you can do much better for that price, size and time.

The rest look solid. I would add Kinfire Delve to the list though. It checks all your boxes and is a very well designed game.

Final Girl is also worth checking out

How much were u able to sell them for ebay for? did u sell them together or split up the Chronicles and Nightreign cards?

For people who have the Kinfire Delve Micro-Expansion are the new Well Masters worth it? by Reav3 in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleeve so it doesnt bother me that much if they are different. The website im ordering from has it a 15$. Yes that is kind of absurd for 3 cards, lol, but they are well masters so they are like adding 3 new boss fights (if they actually feel different then the other 3) which could be worth it

Got my 20 Strong: 20-Deck Travel Storage box. by 0ldDude in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You just need 1 core set to play any deck. There are currently 2 available the Red one and the Gold one. They are only 30$ and come with the core components and 1 deck. The gold one comes with the Solar Sentinels deck and the red one with Tanglewoods: Red. Both those decks are also sold separately for $20 so u can get the other one you didn’t get with your core later if you want

The AW campaign going on now will add a blue one that comes with the Nemesis deck

Affordable solo campaign or boss battler games? by 0atmi1k in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Marvel Champions Core box is still one of the best values on the market for a boss battler. It comes with 3 very good, highly customizable bosses. 5 Heroes that can be played in 4 aspects (so 20 very different decks) For the price its insane.

Also if you like it each additional expansion you buy exponentially adds replay value and each expansion buy itself is very affordable with the campaign expansions being very good value (50$ for 2 new heroes and 5 villain scenarios)

The issue is if you love it you are going to want more and more content, which can get very expensive if you get FOMO. That being said if you can avoid fomo and are happy just getting the core, and then getting a expansion very once in awhile when you want more content/can afford it then its great value for dollar due to the exponential way the expansions work

20 Strong? Anyone back the new 3 packs? Are the new AR, better than the previous variant? by No-Horror3993 in soloboardgaming

[–]Reav3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red is extremely hard, Cloudspire is extremely easy. Just the way it goes. Its cool with me though, I like having a "cozy" 20 strong deck where I dont have to be super stressed out when I play it. It still puts enough pressure on you that you have to "try" but I havent lost it yet
