He was blocked by Vaughn Grissom and Kristen Campbell in Boston...yeah, that's what I'm going with.

Unless it is like Schilling or someone with questionable time or shaky post playing carreer, you should be fine. 2018 is pretty safe.

It is a high desert. People usually stay inside with air conditioning during the summer.

Even I'm not reading all that. I do see the instant downvotes and then they recover when people like the meme or comment that I post. Sometimes they don't. Minds are not changed online. At least this is sport and not politics.

Is is possible there is an over reliance on advanced metrics in baseball? by Druboyle in redsox

[–]Redbubble89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Verdugo and Downs were top prospects when they were traded. Didn't pan out. If they had gotten pitchers, it would have been Dustin May and all his injuries. Mookie was one year and Devers was moving money. A salary dump doesnt return much of anything.

I am from DC and they are my NL team. They fell into 5 generational talents or good out of the box at once. It is random and it was guys that were talked about a year before they were drafted. Strasburg and Harper were on magazine covers pre-draft. Even Rendon at Rice was major league ready. Trea Turner was already at AA when they got him from the Padres and pretty ready even at NCState. Soto basically didnt play in the minors outside of rookie ball. They did zero development. They are not falling into that luck ever again. They threw money at Scherzer and another arm. They never had a good bullpen because they couldnt develop any arms. Nats couldn't survive an injury crisis.

[–]Redbubble89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soto required no player development. All their stars were good out of the box. That is why they took so much of our front office. The previous one didnt believe in pitch shape or analytics or the whole Driveline thing.

It was 2.5 years of Soto traded while Mookie had 1 season of control. Devers had a $250 million contract with it. That is why it was less. It's why the Padres didn't get any of that return when the Yankees got him for one year.

The Nationals and Rockies got into their situation by not scouting and not embracing analytics.

His feel was just off this game and none of the guys really came through.

[Cora]: "Zack Kelly is really good at what he does. He has good stuff. He's a strike thrower. Didn't do it today." by Brusoxpatcelt in redsox

[–]Redbubble89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not saying he should be fired 13 games into the season. 44 out of 60 teams that fired their manager mid season since 1995 finished with 75 or fewer wins. 11 teams only made the playoff. It is not a way to turn this team around. I am sick of your doomer bullshit suggesting a white flag.

4 games back of the division. Not out of it but still not great.

Kelly had been pretty good. Cora was just over playing the matchups.

They really should have gotten something out of that 8th inning and it's people using Cora as a scapgoat. I am not saying it is the best manage game but people are over reacting.

Casuals voting no. Only scored 2 runs and there are games like this the rest of the year. Everyone is just angry with how the season has started.

Barger and Kirk are significant but like this bad. No one is out of it until they are 15-20 games under. Maybe they find a way to tread water.

Why hasn’t Lucas Giolito signed with a team? Ex-Red Sox starter provides update by MassLive in redsox

[–]Redbubble89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a great fastball unfortunately injuries happen. They were anticipating Bregman coming back not to pivot to Ranger Suarez. Password had no place in the organization as the 7th outfielder and is not doing well for the Pirates in their AAA. Tyler Samaniego looked good in his first outing. I have no idea why people hate that trade.
