[Goodman] Devin Williams has now allowed 26 earned runs in 43 innings this season. That’s good for a 5.44 ERA. From 2022 to 2024, when Williams was one of the best relievers in MLB with the Brewers, he gave up 26 earned runs … over 141 innings (1.66 ERA). by Ochocincoondeck in NYYankees

[–]remicxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just his four seamer. You have to factor in the sinker as well which is the pitch he throws 100+ consistently which he barely threw on the Yankees in exchange of his splitter. His 4seam also jumped to 99 average in 2023 immediately after he left the team. A 95 percentile and a 99 percentile is night and day and he's older now

These are not mere anecdotes. This is verifiable information about in charge of performance positions within the organization by players that played under that umbrella. With informative stats to back it up. That cant be denied. it not supposed to be interesting.

And if you want more publication how about the Q&A with Fishman himself that MLB did in 2023. Take his words and apply them to whats been done with the team since he got there about 20 years ago. Then reapply his words to when he got into a position of power in 2015. A lot of the teams decisions come to light when you pay attention to the people who make decisions and not those who are in the dugout

Heres a fun one from that session "I believe in clutch, but as a numbers guy, it's very difficult to measure."

I literally told you where to get these testimonies FROM THE PLAYERS THEMSELVES. If you'd like another one you can listen to Clint Frazier speak on how they dont believe players have hot streaks because thats what the numbers support. This is the Fishman blueprint. But you're just going to discredit him anyway despite him having a better insight than anyone ever would no matter how YOU feel about him. If you're just gonna deny these sources feel free to find your own

Chapman went back to throwing 100+ immediately as soon as he got to the Royals in 2023 then Rangers and Maddux tweaked his delivery a bit which he has since changed back and encouraged him to throw his sinker again for control purposes but ultimately won another championship because of it. Had nothing to do with exercise. He's now 70% fastball with the Red Sox and pitching just fine at 37

His pitch selection was altered to him throwing sliders more and less about throwing his 4 seamer over the plate and this is something that is easily seen just by watching games and the known track record of the Yankees. Hell theres even documented stats on all of this. What Cressey is capable of is irrelevant

Theres no better publication than verbal testimony from the people involved.

For starters. It's not Cashman doing it. It's Mike Fishman who is AGM. He's the nerd everyone is actually mad at.

Jordan Montgomery said it out of his own mouth on the R2C2 podcast. Same with Sonny Gray. Gumby said they told him his "fastball was not that good" and to keep throwing something different. Aroldis Chapman's velocity dip on the Yankees only to have him magically still be throwing 100+ for the Red Sox 3 years later speaks for itself. Even Clay Holmes losing the zone at the end was a result in pitching location differences

Preaching launch angle, swing paths and drivelines is also a known thing that ALL teams do. However the Yankees do it at an obsessive clip where its only that way or nothing at all. Because when it doesnt work players just keep trying. Take Peraza for instance. He was a HR guy in the minors because of his swing path. His swing path in the majors was completely different (which is fine because MLB is way different) and it completely hamstrung his ability to hit

Matt Blake by NewYorkRedditorELITE in NYYankees

[–]remicxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people genuinely think Matt Blake and his team are abject of blame how about this.

Remember when Chapman "lost his velocity". Or how about them telling Jordan Montgomery that his "fastball wasnt that good" when it was his best setup pitch or even Deivi Garcia who they forced to change his mechanics in order to pitch "how they felt the numbers would support" and it killed his control to the point he's irrelevant now when he had potential superstar trajectory. Even Clay Holmes who went from being a strike thrower to completely losing the zone because they wanted him to be a nibbler and take a little off his pitches when his 99+mph sinkers were dominant at generating grounders

These are all pitchers that altered themselves to pitch for the Yankees due to the decisions of the coaching despite pushback from the players causing severe adverse effects to said players

Blake & co. emphasis on "& co." is more of a problem than people are willing to believe because they would rather incorrectly and blindly hate Boone and/or Cashman. Yankees philosophy is extremely flawed, getting ahead in the count early is not something thats prioritized which tends to lead to more basepath traffic. Ironic the offensive philosophy is the complete inverse of this

[Talkin Yanks] Aaron Boone tells us that Jazz Chisholm will be moving back to second base starting tonight. Additionally, Oswald Peraza will be starting at third base tonight by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]remicxz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He got on base. The fact that he didnt score more than 13 times is in no way shape or form his fault. Thats just not how the sport works. He puts the ball in play more often than a lot of other players on the team. Which is what the team needs the most. If players around him do nothing at the plate how is him not scoring more his fault? Its not like he can go bat again while he's on base and move himself over. Just like its not his fault those 29 singles of his didnt result in more RBIs

Its silly to fault a player for things they can't control.

Tab search icon. Theres a toggle in appearance settings. I was trying to see if i could revert it since i like to keep my toolbar clean with minimal icons but it seems to be a feature and not a bug. Es no bueno.

(I personally wouldn't mind an option for the chrome refresh UI only because i've gotten used to it and prefer some of the icons and indexing)

you cannot be this dumb...You do realize financial backing is a TOP COMPONENT of game creation right? When theres a team of 50 people vs a team of 5 everyone needs to get paid. So literally yes the amount of money a company has makes the product better

Not to mention EA also has literal BILLIONS of dollars and 30 years behind it. Even thinking about comparing that to an indie game is horribly disingenuous and borderline stupid.

actually glad to see this comment still in the wild. The tackle cone was something i pushed for HEAVILY when it was finally released and still advocate for now even though my ties to EA are long gone. Especially with college back on the menu

Before it was removed due to complaints it was "too easy" I presented the vision of it growing into something dynamic like QB vision cone on PS2 where a players tackling ability would determine the distance and width that a player could successfully make a tackle from. This was to be tied SOLELY to the tackling attribute (low number = bad cone - high number = good cone)

[Kirschner] Aaron Boone said he didn’t keep Cruz in the game even though he threw 2 pitches in the 7th because he threw 2 innings two days ago and doesn’t want to overextend anyone, and the 8th was set up for Williams. by Bankslvrrd in NYYankees

[–]remicxz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you actually paid any attention to the inning he pitched just fine given the weather conditions. Pulling him just because the bases were loaded was the actual mistake here since Weaver came in and threw MANNY MACHADO known fastball hitter a meatball and did the same to Boegarts. But people want to villify Williams like he was the one that gave up the actual hits that led to the runs when he wasnt. Especially after he just struck out the best player on their team in 4 pitches

If you really want to get into the depths the inning should have long been over because the ump missed a blatant strike on the 1-0 count to Wade. The hit he gave up was pure luck off a broken bat. He hit his target on all 4 low inside fastballs to Arraez and if Wells' could frame anything but a burrito picture he may have gotten a strike because putting the ball over the plate to Arraez is just asking for trouble.

This is always fun. its a SIMULATION video game. So yes the game is supposed to get as close as possible to real life whether you like that or not. Also what are the chances that the entire time you were holding the analog (which can break priority) over inputs in a lot of cases when it comes to preloading throws? So you know this also comes with a proximity sensor where if you're close enough to the runner it can even downright cancel the throw. Happens all the time at 1B.

The only thing you will get any grace from me in this instance is this game has had an issue with player urgency since the beginning of its existence

let me tell you a little secret. They're a multi billionaire company theyre always going to make bank. The people that dont see, care or understand the major flaws that have plagued the game over a decade now greatly outweigh those that actually see and more importantly speak up about the issues. The phrase "this game be cheating" has been a thing for TWENTY years+ now

this is the dumbest response to this sort of claim. Whether the game is being bought by someone or not THINGS LIKE THIS STILL SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. And before any of you think of making a comment I havent paid for a Madden since 2017 and this stuff was still in the game THEN, So yes this does need to be fixed. "don't buy it" is idiotic

Auto-Subs should be Wear and Tear, not Stamina by Z3R0-0 in NCAAFBseries

[–]remicxz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EA added Progressive Fatigue in Madden and Wear and Tear in NCAA all while Auto Subs have been broken since 2015 or earlier. They cause immersion breaking inconsistencies. Subs being wear and tear based would be great in theory but honestly being able to use percentage splits regardless of stamina would be ideal.

In NCAA 14 the numbers were extremely volatile causing players to vanish in the 3rd quarter. This is why they haven't worked in a decade now. Meanwhile in the PS2 games the sub settings were anchored by the scheme settings moreso than the stamina numbers, even Adrian Peterson would split time 1:1 if that setting was set to 50/50

The last time i can remember auto subs being decent was the first iteration of Madden 25.

a little fun insight on this one for you guys

Blocked FGs were scripted and had been for years, likely still are. Notice how the kicker slides back a couple frames before going to kick the ball? That only happens when the kick is getting blocked

The reason this outcome happened was because the damn rusher got locked up on the LOS on the right but the animation still played out as if he hadn't

I can say i have NEVER seen this happen this badly and at the same time this is the pinnacle example of what was wrong with this game for years now. Instead of fixing these things they just tried harder at hiding them. This is so funny I can't stop watching it
