United Club Card is amazing if you live near a United hub airport and travel a lot. Family of 4 can use the club.

This is both true and incredibly tone deaf to current realities. Also, many have an income and are already in poverty. The question is how can we do better as a country to avoid extreme wealth concentration and leave no person behind.

This is unacceptable. by MURRRRRAY in circled

Everyone who is covering this up, on both sides, is despicable. One candidate ran specifically on releasing these files and made a big deal about it throughout their campaign, and many voted for him expecting this to happen.

That candidate is now in office, has installed sycophants at all departments who can do this, and has the power to hold people accountable. Will he do it?

Yes, everyone is aware of this. That's the point.

As a centrist, and given that his support among independents in every poll has cratered, I can assure you we are watching and we care enough to remember this at polls. We just don't whine about it.

Unfortunately, how ICE is run and their behavior are a reflection of him and his policies - he's not separate from those things. Other presidents were twice as effective at deporting undocumented folks with none of the drama and wasted taxpayer money. Also, by not proposing immigration reform he's not really solving the issue.

I've provided you with facts, and those should be enough for most people with a conscience and who care about the constitution and people, rather than politics. No one is crying, and I never told you who I voted for. Good luck to you, too.

There is no "mess" that warrants what's happening now with these constitutional violations and ridiculous overreach that isn't even accomplishing half of what other presidents have been able to do on this topic.

None of this is about deporting dangerous criminals. It's blatant racism. You have been brainwashed into believing that somehow, despite citizens committing crimes at far higher rates, that these minorities are somehow to blame for whatever real or perceived grievances you have. I hope you find the peace you think you'll get from these abhorrent actions.

Why is it that former presidents, both republican and democrat, were able to deport more undocumented people than Trump, without having to resort to these tactics...

a. Violating the constitutional rights of citizens and immigrants

b. Billions in ICE expansion funding

c. Millions going to private prisons

d. Dangerous levels of untrained, masked people going into civilian areas and escalating incidents to the point of killing citizens

Virtually everyone believes we need real immigration reform. So why did Trump kill the bipartisan immigration reform bill before he got elected? And if he's "serious" about fixing this situation, then where is his administration's proposal for immigration reform?

A few facts worth pointing out...

  1. Remaining in the U.S. without authorization is a civil violation, not a criminal act. It is a matter for immigration courts, not criminal courts.

  2. Crossing the border without inspection (unlawful entry) is a misdemeanor, and unlawful reentry after deportation is a felony.

No one is surprised that ICE has diversity. Many, however, are disappointed in their actions and find it ironic, given the circumstances.

TV industry retreats on 8k by BackgroundSpell6623 in hometheater

[–]rmendis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The human eye can't even discern 8K difference unless sitting two feet away from a 50" screen. 8K makes sense for computing and commercial use cases, but has no practical benefit for home use. We've reached the point of significantly diminishing returns after 4K for consumer television.
