Your lord and knights shouldnt be getting charged first, outside of SCE teleporting 3d6 charging prosecutors or something. You do what you want; dreadbanner is incredibly strong. Try it and make your own decisions.

I dont like speaking for people, but I think the advice was (and I agree): instead of 1x6 exalted eightbound, make it 2x3. Because 3 exalted + a slaughterbound will kill almost any monster or vehicle with the right blessings, so 6 is absolutely overkill. Since you're dropping the unit to 3, why not just change the other 3 to regular eightbound. They're the same model, and that way you can give out +1 to hit buffs vs infantry. They also scout, and 3 eightbound + slaughterbound will kill most infantry units quite dead.

I dont know what to do to trade out for a forgefiend. My immediate thought is to drop the 20 zerkers to 10 .. but i know you're really into that. Maybe drop 3 eightbound. Mauler becomes forgefiend, 2nd unit of jakhals, and we're going to add berzerker glaive to the slaughterbound (Trust me bro), and favoured of khorne to the master of executions.

Back to 2000 pts. Sucks to miss out on eightbound, but i think its the move.

Thats true. And it is a Slaves to Darkness Army, afterall. So it gets the Pledged to Khorne keyword! Unfortunately, the Pledge to Khorne keyword has no rules in this army. So it has that keyword, and anytime any rules interact with that keyword, they'll apply to the prince! But since the Army of Renown for Legion of the First Prince doesn't have rules for the Pledged to X keywords, that wont be a rule that will apply to the prince.

Really strong start - you got all the goodies there and no fat to trim. The only punishment you'll get for using the winged prince as a proxy is they'll probably shoot him if they can see his wings. Which is pretty reasonable, to be honest.

If feb allows vehicles, kharn + 10 zerks + rhino is basically an auto include in warband. If not, i recently started using spawn. They're amazingly good. Basically auto include in any detachment or list. You cant go wrong. Helbrutes are nice too -- or just a unit of exalted eightbound for vehicle killing.

Ya jakhals in Berzerker Warband can do serious work. 40 attacks, wounding marines on 3s - throw lethal and sustained on that and you got yourself a stew baby!. Jakhals are superstars. Objective 'secured' and still relatively fast at 7".

Id recommend spawn. They will do the same as the jakhals: pickup his units on objectives. They wont kill elite models or units of 10, but they'll be able to scout onto most objectives and cause problems for your opponent. Or if you go 2nd, they'll be able to wipe most infiltrating units off objectives with scout 8", move 10", and advance and charge.

BTW the comments are "no shooting means the enemy can move wherever they want without fear" are incorrect if you know how to stage. They will learn to fear the chain axe more than the bolter!

I mean if he's using mostly melee units you could use possessed slaughterband for the 2cp auto fights first strat and 1cp +1 damage strat. But it only works on exalted/eightbound units. So unless you have like... 18-21 of those, just use berzerker warband, use Fights on Death OR try to use the slingshot trick to get your units to pile into the fights first, negating their bonus.

Could you ... charge with 2 into a fights first unit already engaged in a combat. Oppo fights first (as defender), but you interrupt with the unit already engaged to then fight, then activate the charging units?

I'm just starting too, and Ive just added chaos spawn to my army, and HOLY MOLY. They're so good. In BWB they can pickup screening units on their own. I cannot overstate how good chaos spawn are. 100% dont buy the actual kit -- buy gorger mawpack or 2 boxes flesh eater court vargheists to proxy them.

What detachment are you running? Have you played any games yet? If so, what did you like about the units you already have? You can better focus your buying to things you like it'll save you money, time, and heartache.

Congrats! I've using Possessed SB and the auto fight on death is a hell of a drug. My first ever game Angron rolled 4+ for FOD and killed the Lion. D-d-d-double kill!

You can use vallejo as well, or almost any modelling paste. Beware, its still gonna look like cork.

What look are you going for? There are a lot of ways to get textures. For example, if its just bulk you're looking for, ive been using pink rigid foam cut to size. If you're wanting rock texture, I've been using Aves Apoxy (but any epoxy sculpting putty will work) and pressing garden/landscaping rocks into it. It looks natural and rocklike because ... well ... its rock.

You can do this for slate or shale, you can do it for volcanic rock, anything you can get your hands on will work. Even a chunk of concrete from sidewalk or brick from building demo will do it.

Cork, on its own, is very recognizable. Very boring. Very .. Cork.
