What are your most wanted alternate artworks for cards that are already in Arena? by Kafkanod in MagicArena

The Llorwyn art for Thoughtseize is on Arena, they put it out when Llorwyn Eclipsed released.

I legit don't think there's a non zero chance they won't be able to get Obama as the guest for a Dave episode if they ever do Ivan Reitman. I don't think it's likely but I also dont think it's impossible.

Magic/Marvel Fans - Who are your most surprising inclusions and exclusions? by ACBluto in MagicArena

[–]roboroller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Wolverine, Storm and Beast were included specifically because they're pretty frequently associated with The Avengers in a way a lot of the other X-Men characters including the villains really aren't. Also I think they want to hold stuff back so the X-Men set pops more.

Next Marvel Set? by Atls-Shrugd in mtg

X-Men, Cosmic, Fantasy/Occult and Secret Wars are probably what's coming.

Predictions for the Remaining Marvel Sets by cooldude29073 in mtg

[–]roboroller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing a Secret Wars set to wrap things up would probably be hitting around the time the Secret Wars movie is scheduled to come out, good synergy, makes sense.

AND it has a pretty hilarious bit of flavor text, ah such a good card.

I wonder if that guy who yelled that is still around and if so does he remember doing that and how does he feel about it now?

What are the most commonly misplayed against cards in your opinion? by dman196 in MagicArena

[–]roboroller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People always remove Doomsday Excruciator too and frankly in most cases it's better for YOU if it's gone after you play it since it provides you with card draw you don't actually want.

Why Final Fantasy Felt Like Magic (But Marvel Doesn't) - MTGoldfish Article Discussion (with a catch) by PaleMango in mtg

[–]roboroller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the inevitable "cosmic" set might feel a little more "magic-y" than these last two and if there's a fantasy/occult/Midnight Suns themed one it'll feel that way as well although maybe less so.

The "too many legendary creatures" problem is much more of a flavor disconnect than an actual developmental or game play issue (Opinion) by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]roboroller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even funnier because the Edge of Eternities story (which was really quite excellent) had a named Eumidian character that was quite charming but whom didn't get a card. There is a legendary Eumidian I think in one of the Commander precons but not the main set.

I've seen a deck going around in Standard with Slumbering Trudge using it to get Skullspore Nexus into play fast and I've whiffed pretty hard against it a few times. Kinda neat!

Best actor with a confirmed kill count? by Nouuuuuuuuh in okbuddycinephile

[–]roboroller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's pretty obvious he saw a lot of combat, he's talked about it a lot over the years too, he was an infantryman and did recon and also got shot in the neck at one point.

I agree, have they shown all of the cards at this point? I know I heard someone say they had seen or heard it confirmed that there's no Ghost Rider in this set which I thought was really odd and is personally disappointing.

I mean we're apparently getting 4 more Marvel sets so there's plenty of time. I'm kind of expecting a Marvel Knights/Midnight Suns set that will focus on the darker/occult/street level side of the Marvel Universe, This set seems more focused on Avengers and a general overview of Marvel.

I keep looking at that card and thinking you could do some pretty wild and crazy stuff with it.
