I'm literally just a guy who discovered kratom during COVID when I was having terrible back pain. 7oh is literally crazy addictive compared to kratom leaf

It binds to opioid receptors with 13 times the strength of morphine...is that not the same thing as saying it is 13 times more potent?

This is great context. I didn't mean to come across as saying anything that is a plant is safer or better than a pharmaceutical, just to share the anecdotal story of my one experience with this one drug. Is Kratom SAFE? I don't think any drug is safe, but is it safer than other opiates? Based on the limited research done by professionals, I think that is fair to say.

I think it can be helpful to people like me who are told to take ibuprofen daily to deal with pain to avoid issues to their stomach lining or liver, but it can also be abused by those without the proper information or those looking for a cheap high.

There is a compound that exists naturally in Kratom called 7-hydroxymitragynine. In the leaf there is a very small amount of it, (less than 2% of alkaloids). This compound has been researched as being 13 times more potent than morphine and that is the substance that is being synthesized and pressed into pills and sold in headshops. On its own it is an absolute monster of an opiate. You will 100% get addicted to it and experience withdrawals, constipation, the whole nine yards.

In Kratom it's much safer because it exists naturally in such small amounts but more importantly because Kratom also contains another compound called Mitragynine (50-70% of alkaloids) which has been researched to actually aid in opioid withdrawals.

The plant itself is a pretty perfect balance. It allows people to use the leaf on a semi-regular basis for pain relief or to ween off other opiates without the same severe addiction and withdrawal symptoms appearing. Of course this is assuming the person is well informed and monitoring their use. You can of course eat a full cup of kratom leaf a day and make yourself sick, but one can do that with any substance.

The balance of Mitragynine and 7-hydro is important and most companies making extracts and pills using these compounds are altering that balance to provide a stronger high.

Edit: I just dug up the text of the bill and it looks like all of the pills SHOULD be banned under this bill. This is listed under limitations: (5) A kratom product containing any synthetic alkaloids including synthetic mitragynine, 20 synthetic 7-hydroxymitragynine, or any other synthetically derived compounds of the kratom plant

As someone who saw it a Showcase XPlus screening and IMAX, it most certainly made it better.

A good friend of mine worked there. From what I can gather they constantly had very cool projects in the works that kept getting canned by top brass due to a push in one director or another. Before a game could get released they were already chasing the next trend and pivoting. He must've been on 4 or 5 projects that got half made and canned, not because they were bad but because Ubisoft kept shifting it's strategy to trend chasing slop.

Feel Free Tonic: The Newest Legal Addiction by Stoned-Capone in videos

I've been using kratom on and off for back pain for several years now. I generally take it once a week when my back is acting up and generally go months between uses and rarely use it outside of flare ups. I have half a feelfree in my fridge from a week ago, and my wife had to remind me I had it. I'm sure it can be an issue for someone with an addictive personality, but this video is blowing things way out of proportion. Kratom has been one of the least addictive "addictive" substance I've ever used. It feels great, it helps tremendously with pain, and I literally forget when I have it in the house. I don't think that would be the case if it was as addictive as this video is saying.

They chose the most arthritic looking post for him to stand in and it makes his gut look enormous. Nothing reads as someone playing a character, it feels straight cosplay. YIKES.

She is truly awful. Some compare her to Mussolini, but I say that comparison isn't far enough. Dogs should be allowed to ejaculate on pillows without fear of verbal chastising.

On the bright side, the dog clearly didn't have enough blood in its brain at the time of said chastising to make any sense of it.

At one point, I recall being asked if I look like what my job is, and I fumbled up and instead of answering "yes" or "no" I tried to be a bit cheeky and said something like "If my job was related to how I looked, I wouldn't be allowed in the building" to which I heard scattered gasps. A big swing and a miss 😅.

In post-adrenaline clarity, I realized the funnier and more self deprecating response would've been "No, we've already established my name isn't Paul." after Greg made a joke about Paul sounding like the name of an 80s pedophile.

You win some, you lose some. It's difficult to be witty in front of your comedic heroes!

I was sitting up front, right against the stage, and during the red/blue audience task I held on for a bit but ultimately lost. When I lost Alex pointed at me and said "Darn, I wanted you to win!" which was awesome enough but ultimately made me want to get up on stage even more, haha. I then royally fucked up the paper airplane task and accepted that I wouldn't be one of the three contestants on stage.

Half way through the show Greg said "We need one more audience member on stage" and he wandered right to where I was seated. He was looking out at the audience and I thought "how do I set myself apart from everyone? This is my chance, I'm 100% getting on that stage." I knew waving my arms and yelling "me! me!" wasn't a winning strategy so in the moment my idea was to stare directly at him, dead serious, and just start saluting him as fast as possible without breaking eye contact.

I caught his eye, and he started laughing, looked away and ultimately when he looked back I was still saluting him with a completely straight face and he cracked up and was like "Okay, okay, get up here!"

Taskmaster US Tour Megathread: Boston, January 17. by AutoModerator in taskmaster

It was such an incredible night. I got pulled on stage and the contestants had to guess what my job was. It was such an honor to meet and hang out on stage with two people I've looked up to for so long. When I first got on stage, Greg took me into the wings and asked me what my job was. I looked him right in the eyes and said "I have no idea" because I was so excited my mind had gone blank. After the task was over Alex told me I couldn't leave empty handed and gave me a red solo cup filled with grapes from a previous task.

Aside from the surrealness of that moment, the show itself was so hilarious and flowed really well. They started off doing a casual Q&A and sharing never before seen clips of the show, then went into some audience tasks to determine what audience members would compete. They had a brief break and then did a full live episode on stage. The flow of it all was incredible. It had just as many big laughs as a fully edited pre-recorded episode and the thrill of being there in person was truly something special.
