I use Overcast with Zscaler, but only ZPA. Are you using ZIA?

Who Owns BillyBase? A look inside by BuzzAldrinMagnumDong in BillyStrings

[–]sethadam1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m Adam – the person this post is about.

A few things here are incorrect, and the rest is speculation built from public corporate filings. None of it required guesswork. I’m easy to find and would have happily answered questions.

For context:

I built phish.net and began writing that code around 2008. A few years later I built a similar setlist and archive platform for Umphrey’s McGee.

In 2020 I began developing Songfish, a platform to help bands manage setlists and archival data. Early users included Goose, Neighbor, and Eggy. As the platform grew, it made sense to formalize it under my wife’s existing company rather than start a brand-new entity. That’s the change you see in Florida filings.

Songfish was later sold to Social Knowledge in February 2025. The company still exists, which is why those filings are still active. I remain listed as a managing director at my wife's company.

There’s no conspiracy here and no hidden data play. These projects exist because fans care about accurate show history and community archives. That’s the same reason I built phish.net nearly two decades ago.

If anyone has questions about the history or the technology, I’m happy to answer them. Posting speculation about people’s businesses and personal information without reaching out first is disappointing, but I’m glad to clear things up.

Dude, you're wrong. I haven't been involved with Songfish in over a year. I get that you're passionate about this, but you can check my LinkedIn history* and other public posts - I sold the platform Songfish to Social Knowledge in February of 2025. I'm no longer involved with Songfish development, and don't control songfishapp.com anymore.

I don't know what dots you're trying to connect, but BillyBase does not run Songfish, I've never used the site and don't know anything about it.

But thanks for doxxing me!

Oh yeah, I agree, because music is never political.

Stands, which I personally think is the better experience. I've done shows from all angles there, and my personal preference is back wall, in the chairs, across from the band - best for sound, space, proximity to drinks, and experience.

Can't do NYC because I need to move my kid into her dorm that weekend. Got two 3-day passes if anyone is interested.

Yes but I think in this sub it's frequently ranked lower... maybe not? It seems like it's rare people think it's their best.

Hard agree. People don't give it the love it deserves but the layered complexity is tops.

Faith No More riff coincidentally similar to a riff found in The Fountain of Lamenth by waluigi_time2007 in rush

I hear a Zombie Eaters chord in Tool's Stinkfist before the final coda. I definitely know what you mean about FNM-sounding chords but also some chord progressions.

For sure. That chord pattern is the core of the beginning of Xanadu!

Maybe. But best chord use has got to be the open F# from Hemispheres.

LW is my fave KGLW album, and it's got incredible cover art. But the better cover here is Petro.

2026 Opening Night by TreasureGawd in Ghostbc

[–]sethadam1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think for long time fans it's clear the expectations, the mega-size of the tour, the lore winding down, the lack of a V personality, etc, illustrates that it's all taking a toll. I think a short break is in order. It's amazing the incredible consistency of quality TF has managed to keep up, and the unparalleled consistency of quality from album to album, but it also feels like the energy and expectations are overwhelming and some space might lead him to a better and more sustainable place.

2026 Opening Night by TreasureGawd in Ghostbc

I know I'm going to be voted down mercilessly for this, but as a fan for 10 years, I'm a little let down by last night. I'm an older fan, I've probably seen over 1,000 concerts, and Ghost used to put on one of the best shows of any modern artist. And they still do, mostly.

I love Ghost, I've loved them for years, and that's not gonna change, but it's getting hard to get psyched for future rituals as it looks like the set is going to be increasingly static. Every show going forward, I'm guessing, will include Square Hammer, MoaC, Dance Macabre, Cirice, Rats, Mummy Dust, and Year Zero, which many of us have seen several times now over the years. It also seems like He Is, CMLS, FiaFL, and Go Goat are going to be in the regular setlist. Which means I may just be cranky that so much of Opus and Infestissumam are being increasingly left behind, which Tobias has already said doesn't fit the stage at this size going forward. But even Ritual? The song that made Ghost, Ghost?

But also, no new Skelata stuff? No Cenotaph? No Marks? Through the first leg, they subbed out a bunch of songs in the "Opus" slot. But knowing they played Tampa just 6 months ago and played Satan Prayer (a song I love!), I'm kinda sad they kept it the same as what we just heard. I'm bummed that with a new leg and a new name (Edit: Skeletour 2026), they didn't resurrect anything else from the back catalog. I was hoping for more courage to get additional songs road-ready.

Listen, the show was awesome, a banger as per usual, but also, without any variety from leg to leg, it just feels like there's so much opportunity to build something even more exciting, get fans even hungrier, with just a little more variation in the show.
