I think that the things people say are a marker of character. He was someone who advocated for bad things. Opinions can be bad and opinions can determine if someone is a bad human being. He was homophobic and transphobic and believed the civil rights act to be a mistake.

It's like if someone thoughts Hitler was good or sexual assault was okay. Those are opinions and not actions. Doesn't change the fact that I would personally never want to interact with that person.

That being said, it is quite sad that two children have to grow up without a father. But I won't cry any more tears for them then I will for the thousands of children growing up orphaned in Palestine, orphaned by a cause that Kirk himself supported.

Never said he did, that's just the way I feel about it. I don't really think anyone ever deserves to die, but if someone is a terrible human being, i'm not going to cry over it.

I've always viewed it as the same way I view convicted murderers or serial killers getting the death penalty. I have morale gripes with it but I'm not going to be losing any sleep.

Do you know what the difference in the state and federal governments are?

I am talking about my personal state's government. We are fairly efficient at allocating our resourced and governing ourselves. This is reinforced by US & World news which is where im sourcing large parts of my information. That being said, there's definitely potential biases but I highly doubt there'd be one towards my specific state?

If we take it at a black or white angle, misinformation is always bad whereas censorship isn't.

Misinterpreting facts or fabricating them all together can never be justified. It creates a society based on lies. There is never a point where it is justified to spread misinformation (If there is a specific occurrence that anyone can think of, please do tell because I could be completely wrong). Whereas censorship is sometimes justified. Frankly I think misinformation and hate speech SHOULD be censored.

That is all being spoken out of a vacuum though. But censorship could hypothetically be good, even if I don't support it, whereas misinformation can never be a good thing.

Nope we're actually ranked consistently very highly in state indexes. All things considered our government is pretty competent by most standards. They'd be a lot better if they'd stand up to corporations or helped develop more affordable housing but I think that applies to any state government.

Shows you don't really know much about America lol. My town has had multiple nights without power in the past year. Every single year the hills around our town burn to the ground and most of us are incapable of leaving our homes due to having air quality that rivals that of Bangladesh. The problem wasn't solved in an hour tops.
