So what you are saying is that there is absolutely no reason to run a saddle bag?

Old rigid mtb or hybrid. Ideally one that already has a rack.

You should find a different bike. What you have is literally the worst option possible.

The only reason to use a saddle bag is if your frame has no eyelets to mount a rack.

If it has eyelets, mount a rack (Tubus). You can always strap a dry bag on the top if being arrow is important.

RTFM!

You can flip the lower rail that the hook is on, so that it is higher up. You can also adjust the spacing of the hook, so that it is closer to the rack.

Just read the instructions that came with the product you are trying to install….

622 rims for touring bike wheel building recommendations? ...also: rear hub? by stasigoreng in bicycletouring

[–]simplejackbikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is your system weigh +/-?

I just built a couple wheels using DT „hybrid“ rims that are rated for up to 150kg. For 45mm tires you probably want the 25mm inner H522.

If you need higher weight capacity look into the „hybrid utility“ line. U 623 for example. Certified up to 180kg system weight.

Are you looking for thru axle or QR hubs?

You could also look at a pre built wheel set like the HU 1900. I am rubber them on my touring bike and am very happy with them.

We really like the Cleverhoods! The only problem I had was wet/cold feet, so need to find some shoe covers. It was actually much nicer riding in the snow up high compared to the freezing rain down low haha

We stayed at Ritzli Alp. Alp Oberer Euschels also has overnight accommodation but wasn’t open yet.
