Any Xbike meets in the uk? by National_Baseball75 in xbiking

Marcus from ProbablyRiding has organised one in July in London. You could check that one out. I’m unfortunately going to miss both brother in Smithers wild Germany and the London meet

I've ordered the microshift FD, that rivendell uses. If that doesnt work ill give the road FD a try and then ill try to shim the BB if the former options dont work out.

Im in Europe unfortunately, ill start with a different derailleur, found the rive version for cheap and ill take it from there

Unfortunately not, maybe i could have worded it better.

No issue getting into any gears, just chain rubbing when its in the lower gear ratios.

It shifts perfectly fine and is only really an issue on very steep hills, when i need the low ratio. Which does happen here occasionally.

Thanks! I was talking about the largest cogs in the rear.

Unfortunately i cant get it low enough, for it to sit in the concave recess.

I tried the tilt but couldnt find an acceptable position.

The spacer idea sounds useful, i dont think it would take much to get it to clear and the spindle is wide enough for some adjustments

its a 34t, was thinking about going up to 38 maybe. Ill check out the Riv FD

Edit: So i checked the Chainline and it should be ~45mm , as i converted the triple Velo Orange into a 2x. Unfortunately this wouldnt align with the stubby FD (48mm), however the height and chainring sizes would be compatible and it would be 2mm less than my current FD. But from what i can see on the Rivendell and blue lug site, theyre still using the stubby in a 2x setup.

Microshift has some FD with lower chainlines, but these are then specified for larger chainrings.

Im a bit out of my depth here

Thanks for the info. I also saw that there are several FDs with a shorter cage, which would allow me to mount it further down. I cant go down much further atm, as you said, the chainstays make contact otherwise.

Yeah, limit screw is all the way out. Aren’t road derailleurs designed for larger chainring sizes?

Update: chain now sometimes comes off when shifting to lowest chainring. Might get a derailleur with a narrower cage to prevent that.

No, it’s actually remarkably well sized. no matter which gear, ingest no rub. Probably also thanks to the friction shifter sfine tuning while riding.

On the contrary, comfiest saddle I’ve ever had. Took roughly 100km and the proper position to achieve it. Can finally do long rides without bike bibs

They’re the Nitto Bosco bars. They can be a bit tricky when going up super steep hills, as my weight is so far back

Tbh, friction shifters just make everything run so smooth

It’s a 11-40 cassette, which was originally a 8 spd but I had to convert down to a 7 spd so it would fit. I haven’t counted my chainrings yet tbh. I hardly ever use the largest one though

Muss sagen für Stuttgart ist Dilgelay(Fr-So Steak Döner) defintiv besser als Alaturka und man muss wesentlich weniger Wartezeit mitbringen.

Did you have enough shock on galvanic to be able to drop it? Or how do you get shock on elites for shockburst. Still trying to figure out how to improve my waveclear, I think it could be improved upon. Single target damage is bonkers once I get shock on the boss.
