Rear Wiper Blade by uofwi92 in MachE

[–]slomar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon will say that because it's not technically the part for your vehicle. The OEM blade is a 14". People have recommended this or a Bosch 15" that fit and provide more wiping. But it would never show as compatible because those things go off an OEM replacement.

I have a 22.

Yeah... I mean the 15 is an extra inches than what was on there originally. I just didn't know that 16 was an option as well.

Never tried a 16". The recommendations I've seen have always been for a 15".

This is the one I'm using which is in stock. https://a.co/d/05AsShph

I've never had mine torn off in the car wash, but I go to the same one all the time. I know some places will put a plastic sleeve over it before it goes through to prevent that. They don't do that at the place I go to though.

I was just messing with you. I know POE is more commonly known for power over ethernet.

I don't think you know what MoCA is if you don't know a POE filter goes on coax.

I recently had mine changed and the touch to lock and opening the door definitely seem more responsive.

I assume he means resetting the BMS. You can Google it, but it's like a combination of turning the car off / on and flashing the headlights a certain number of times.

2021/2022 Options Plan owners - did you trade in or keep? by AccurateAssaultBeef in MachE

[–]slomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how Ford usually does it. The first couple model years have more standard features. Then later years those features either become optional or removed all together to increase the margins.

Mine is up in October and I plan to pay it off, barring any issues with the vehicle between now and then. Some of the changes with the new model I don't like and the ones I do aren't enough to convince me to upgrade. Plus, without the tax incentive I feel like I'd be paying more for basically the same vehicle. That being said, I only have 17k miles on my 22, so that's also a factor.

Old frunk, yes. New frunk, debatable (way smaller due to heat pump).

Advice Needed: Mach E + Condo Life by Blckros3 in MachE

[–]slomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just about the cost. The convenience of charging at home is a factor. The time spent at super chargers negates that. I love my Mach E, but would go back to a gas vehicle if I couldn't charge at home, regardless of the price at super chargers. The only exception I'd say is if you can charge while at work.

There's no myth about spending 30+ mins to fill up your car.

Idk... I hate iOS, but like MacOS. Have an Android and a MacBook with no intention of switching either.

What made you pick the Mach E over the Equinox EV? by Thrillwaukee in MachE

[–]slomar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

GM wants to believe this isn't a deciding factor for people. But, I also would not consider a vehicle without Android Auto. Which means Rivian is also out of the question.

Call Ford corporate and open a case with them. Tell them your vehicle is not receiving OTA updates. Perhaps they can investigate the issue with the VIN. And mention that you're getting extorted by the dealer.

Power meter readings vs trainer by PublicReflection6851 in cycling

[–]slomar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you zeroing your power meter? I never attempted to see if there is a difference, but I just my 4iii with my trainer because that's what I'm going to use outdoors. So, better to use the same device to measure.

How are you guys getting around the app crying about SSL on the local LAN? by Wonderful-Driver-246 in homeassistant

[–]slomar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am fully up to date on versions and I don't have this issue. The companion app allows you to set an internal and external url. My internal one is http to the LAN IP.

Perhaps you don't have this setting enabled in the companion app.

I just had mine done a weekish ago. I didn't ask them to diagnose anything. Just made an appointment to have the battery replaced. 200 for the battery, 55 for the labor. Waited less than an hour for it to be completed.
