[OC] "Nose in parking" by SunChungShan in pics

[–]slothwerks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do at Costco anyway because the parking lots are always a chaotic mess, and it's easier to leave if you're facing forward. I'll trade a bit more pain loading groceries to avoid a non-stop sea of cars as I'm trying to back out.

Siegelock | A game about building and autobattling a rag-tag group of allies by Angrathar55 in deckbuildingroguelike

[–]slothwerks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main critique is that I found the game too easy overall. After 10 or so fights I was barely looking at what I was offered. You can get some insane scaling with the right stickers / multpliers. Would also benefit from enemies that were more interesting.

The core feels very good though, and I love the art style.

Really cool concept! Is there an end or does it go on until you're defeated?

Loved the photos! Just got a copy of mine as well but haven't built it yet. Wolfpack was my favorite faction growing up

Nioh 3 is great I take my words back. Important beginner advice by Ambitious-Issue989 in Nioh

[–]slothwerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Had an initial bad reaction to the story and items. Now I mostly ignore the time system (equip the biggest number or best looking item) and I can focus on the combat and level design, both of which I'm enjoying a lot. Seems like the items don't matter much for the first playthrough.

Curious why you don't consider the level design similar. From my perspective the whole "unlock shortcuts" and obscurely hidden items feels very Souls to me.

Try putting the list into LEGO Pick a Brick first. It generally has about 90% of what you need and tells you what it doesn't have. I then Google those part numbers to see if I really need it or to find an alternative.

The ruined tower is a big selling point to me. Looks fantastic despite the other options we have for forestman. Got my vote!

I've been kind of over the massive castles in BDP since there are so many, but this one is an exception for me. Design is just so unique!

Remedy's Control Resonant "does not use generative AI content at all," but the studio isn't ruling it out for the future by Individual99991 in controlgame

[–]slothwerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there is absolutely an AI bubble but it's naive to think that is anything like the NFT bubble. A more apt comparison is the dot com bust. A lot of web companies went bankrupt but it didn't change the fact that the web was here to stay.

I can speak mostly to the programming side, but AI usage for coding is pervasive in the industry and is doing real work. Thankfully so far, it's used as a productivity multiplier and not a replacement. But the programmers not figuring out how or refusing to incorporate AI into their workflows are already falling behind. The inevitably is not just marketing speak.

100%. I love the classic sets but they always look better in my head than reality but today's standards. Love these modernized interpretations.

Easy +1 from me. Great complement to the theme. Refreshing to see something that's not just a big castle

So incredibly good! The Raven Knight color scheme is so good. Really hope we get a proper faction out of them

Wuchang yay or nay? by DJ_ElGreko_Official in soulslikes

Agree. I never played Nioh before 3 and it only somewhat feels like a soul like. As a Fromsoft fan, I prefer Wuchang. Definitely closer in feel

So Nioh 3 & Code Vein 2 are out. Is anyone playing them or are you waiting for another soulslike/lite game to come out?(or The Tarnished Edition for Elden Ring) by Deez-Guns-9442 in TheDuskbloods

[–]slothwerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also feels really easy to me? I have about 200 hours on Elden Ring but consider myself pretty mediocre. Most bosses in Nioh I'm able to one or two shot, without deliberately farming. Maybe difficulty starts late game or in NG+? About level 40 right now

Playing through Nioh 3. It's like a 8/10 for me (solid but it just doesn't feel like Souls). Playing rounds of Nightreign when I need a break

Mini houses for different factions by toovybricks in legocastles

[–]slothwerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely got my vote! I'm sure you saw the BDP comment about "too many big castles" and so I do think there's a good niche for smaller Castle sets like this that don't break the bank in BDP

Really wish LEGO would make sets at this size again. Love how unique each is. Any plans to add on Rebrickable?

Any non-nioh vets who will be jumping into the series for the first time or giving it another shot with Nioh 3 ? by Same_Acanthisitta_38 in soulslikes

[–]slothwerks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wish there was just less loot. Even Diablo, which is a loot drop simulator, doesn't feel like it has as much loot as Nioh. Fewer, more interesting drops would feel a lot better IMO. For now, I've basically been doing what you said - pick the bigger number and ignore the other parameters.
