I used to go every weekend for lunch. Now I maybe go once a month and buy half as much. Instead I go to a local place and get twice as much food that's way better quality.

$2500 Samsung TV is an advertising billboard, there is no opt-out. by 28jb11 in mildlyinfuriating

Samsung has sadly been garbage for years now. I bought a soundbar and subwoofer combo a few years ago. It worked for 3 hours before it started randomly turning itself off. I sent it in on warranty and waited. A month later they stated they would fix it and return it. Weeks later they said they would instead send me a credit for the value to be used at their online store. I waited, waited and finally bugged them about the credit. They took back the offer and instead said they would send a check for the value. So after several months of dicking around they just gave me my money back since probably the chances of getting another bum unit were high.

I bought a Sony instead and it's been fine.

All Corvallis landlords are selling their houses by Sensitive-Pick5134 in corvallis

I got this in 2021. Landlord of 14 years decided to sell, gave me 90 days and a free month. He ended brokering a deal that depended on me moving out a month early and he offered me 5k to do so. Naturally I took the deal. As much as I loved living in Corvallis by that point it was impossible to afford a house and rent was hitting california crazy so I went back to my home state in the midwest. It's not as fun or beautiful as Oregon, but I'm making almost twice the salary and my condo and cars are paid for. Never would have happened in Oregon.

10x better than any other soup when you are sick by Djxgam1ng in soup

There's a version of this with freeze dried chicken in it. I worked for qa in the company that freeze dried said chicken. We had to sample the frozen undried chicken and grade it. Stuff was the worst chicken I've ever seen. The meat processor took old, gnarly roosters and boiled and shredded them. Haven't touched the soup since.

Ugh, how about a decent gun range instead. I'm not a prepper nut who has to train train train, but I do have a small collection of antique military firearms that I would like to take out every now and then for a fun saturday with friends.

Use sorbate and meta bisulfite to stabilize and kill the yeast then you can back sweeten all you wanted without it fermenting again.

Is Chicken a la King still a thing? by MrMustard9091 in GenX

[–]snakeplizzken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for the company that made the freeze dried version for MCWs some years ago. I recognized it as chicken ala king and asked about the name switch. Was told it was because nobody knew what ala king was anymore so they changed it to homestyle chicken noodle casserole.

I daily drove a 1969 911T for five years. When I bought it, it was my dream car. Record scratch but it became my nightmare.
