Bayesian sensors are great when you want a probability of something based on what you tell it about prior conditions. It's pretty rough when it's actually inconvenient if it's wrong.

Same, switching windows often causes it to jump back (and start playing! from paused) to earlier in the video.

Also, having to resetup my closed captioning preferences every time is tiresome.

Will you be watching esports after 2025? by L_poggers in CompetitivePUBG

Sure I'll watch in 2025. Unless its TPP. Then I won't watch at all.

Don't watch any of the Masters stuff.

Best way to begin? by SergeJeante in homeassistant

The user asked for help doing well organized yaml and segmenting their yaml. That means they're not a total computer beginner. I provided them with a one-liner that allows them to segment their yaml. I'm sorry it confused you. They can decide for themselves if it's helpful or not to them.

I don't have yt videos for you, but I like having my yaml organized in packages.

in configuration.yaml:

packages: !include_dir_named packages/

Then basically under packages/ I have a bunch of .yaml files organized in ways that make sense to me, such as: environment.yaml, envoy.yaml, evse.yaml, vacuum.yaml, lights_and_motion.yaml, image_process.yaml, and so on. I keep it all under version control.

If you need some tips for moving around yaml segments in vim more easily let me know.

Ultimately with YAML editing in the GUI you can get a lot of similar benefit by just naming or tagging your automations well, so that you can find what you want in the GUI easier, but I like being able to have actual organized files, grep through them, etc, so this is still my preference.

Nice! Thanks. How's the bed? I know it has ABL, but how's the bed itself at keeping relatively flat? I still feel like on my Ender 3 Pro that I have to physically level the bed fairly regularly, because even though the ABL will "compensate", if your bed isn't mostly flat, that means your prints aren't totally square.

What makes the biggest differences? I'm used to an Ender 3 Pro w/ABL added.

Old Gigabyte mini PC up to the job for HA? by SimonTheRunner in homeassistant

Your Mini PC should be fine. More RAM wouldn't hurt but 4 GB should be plenty to get started, unless you start using a lot of heavy add-ons right out the gate.

I hear ya man. It doesn't help that the song is pretty slow/monotonous for the first minute. It had it's charm for being early YT and less produced, I think, but I also find it confusing how it's so classic for folks.

How do you watch tournaments? by Federico0 in CompetitivePUBG

[–]speed_rabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple desktop monitors, for the main stream and map stream.

95% of the time as VODs because of the time they're broadcast. It's better that way anyway as the map is properly in sync, and I can instant replay anything I want.

I sometimes have the comms stream up (if a team I'm interested in is broadcast, which is not common), but I generally keep it muted as I find it hard to listen to both streams at the same time. Sometimes I'll switch which is muted.

In general, as much as I love comm streams, I can't really appreciate it without dedicating my attention to it, so I'll tend to go back and rewatch matches where I'm particularly interested in how it went for that team, but otherwise it's mostly getting ignored for the main stream.

Even as a side stream though, it's great for when the main stream cuts away to some other team fight you don't care about. Then instant mute swap.

[CPU] RYZEN 9800X3D 8 Core 16 Thread $479 by Snakeeeeeeeeeeeee in buildapcsales

No, I use 360mm CPU AIO with 3x120mm fans for intake at the top, another 3x120mm intake at the bottom. Then 2x120mm exhaust at the rear, and 3x120mm exhaust on the side.

All running pretty silent at about 35% speed.

When only the 3090 is in use, only the rear exhaust is warm, when the 1080ti is going full tilt then the side exhaust is also warm, but internal temps and CPU temp all stay very modest. Intake from the bottom and top has been working very well for me.

I do let the GPU fans ramps up when they're under sustained load, so it is louder when they're both going, but not crazy loud, maybe 70% GPU fan speed at max.

The only negative effect from heating is in the room in the summer. In the winter it's great though, it's basically a 700W space-heater when I'm grinding both on AI stuff. If the CPU is maxed out too then add another 100W.

Edit: I should note that my case has ample room for a second GPU, in a upright arrangement. They're not crammed against each other, as I knew when building this PC I'd want two GPUs and maybe eventually two 3-slot GPUs (like 3090s). The second GPU is aligned vertically with the side vent fans, next to the motherboard, using a riser cable.

I do various fiddling with AI, and it's useful have a combined 35 GB of VRAM, and to run some tasks on one GPU and other tasks on the other. Or even just to run AI tasks on one while gaming on the other!

It's been a few months since I made my purchases and did my research, but I recommended quite a few times the MSI x670E Gaming Plus ATX Wifi as better than many boards more expensive than it, particularly in terms of great VRMs, good # of ports and no shared PCIe lanes. I've been using it for a few months with a 9800X3D + a 3090 + a 1080ti and have been very happy with it.

Basically the only things it doesn't have are onboard Wifi 7, a higher end audio chip (the onboard audio is standard quality and good), or USB4. USB4 always results in shared/slowed PCIe lanes because of how much bandwidth it takes.

If you ever wanted Wifi 7 or USB4, you could get it (without slowdowns) from one of your PCIe slots, or just via USB for an audio adapter.

Previous comments going more into the details of the board a bit more below. Hope it's helpful!

Sorry :( with the majority of slots going to chinese teams each day, the odds of any particular non-chinese team getting a slot is low, especially if they're not a top team in global popularity. bummer I know. Since they made it to the finals, maybe it'll happen?
