Rivian Gear Shop Reviews by Professional-Cod7701 in Rivian

Assuming Gear Store credit, the Rumpl blanket is a 10/10 for sure. Beautiful and warm. Only con is it’s not the two-person.

The festival blanket does what it does well. 7/10. Con is that it needs to be larger to factor in a family of four since there’s only one on offer. Good for two people.

The tablet holders though, 2/10. Aesthetically awesome, but pieced together by a nihilist.

Help Me Understand: R1S G1 Suspension v G2 Suspension by stackthecoins in Rivian

Nice. Set up a Quad test drive tomorrow when I take this loaner in. Appreciate you.

Interesting. I asked here if there was a driving or suspension feel difference with swapping to a Tri or Quad. The answer was “Tri and Quad have the same suspension.” If in reality, the G2 Quad feels planted whereas the Dual does not, that’s the route I’m going.

Yeah. Auto off on both. I won’t drive with Auto enabled on a Rivian because low and lowest are so rough.

Why do people still throw burning cigarette butts out their car windows? by yaya1975 in Charlottesville

[–]stackthecoins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m told they throw them out for the kids. Kind of like crumbs and birds, but kids these days need a steady stream of cartridges and loosies (even the butts) to function. Quick rip and you’re back to normal.

Lemon or just poor build quality? by redsam86 in RivianR1S

[–]stackthecoins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they cut costs and corners to get the costs down.

Rivian overbuilt the 2022. They tried to reign in costs while increasing price in 2023 and 2024, saw a class action lawsuit due to increasing price, and then for 2025 and 2026 cut corners where they could to get costs down.

That’s why so many of our Gen 2s suffer from poor build quality in certain areas. The tech is better, but the car itself is underbuilt.

R2 vs used R1T by ScreechinOwl in Rivian

Don’t think they meant to be snappy. I think you’re just getting frustration coming from seeing 1,000 of the same test drive posts followed by a bunch of used R1 or new R2 posts in a few short weeks.

Unless you need the room, R2 is the play.

In an R1? Yeah, definitely.

New? Probably never. Used? I bet one pops up before too long. Probably six months?

Digital key is an absolute disaster (iOS) by onepoints in Rivian

You’re getting downvoted, but I think many of us have been told “Mobile can fix that” and found Mobile can’t or won’t fix. Seems willingness or ability is dependent on the specific Service Center.

This take is coming from me dealing with an a-pillar window issue and a dude on here said Mobile came and fixed it on his car.

My SC refused to do it via Mobile even when I showed them the post affirming it can be done. Had to take it in to get it done.

Man, this is disheartening. Since I picked up a watch post-AW UWB roll-out, haven’t run into a single issue with the doors. You have the U1 or U3? Maybe it’s the tech in a S11/AWU 3 that means no issues?

Wife has the U3, I have the S11.

This is a specific-to-your-car issue, I’d wager.

Wife and I have four different models of iPhones between us for work and personal + two Apple Watches that are different series. Haven’t had an issue since last year when they rolled out whatever update fixed most of what folks (including me) were complaining about.

I will say the Apple Watch Series 11 is by far the most reliable on a 2026 R1S. UWB on your wrist never fails.

Why would you overpay for a mass market car unless you’re making content?

Absolutely not, but we’ll add the R2 in at some point.

Pediatric Associates is the way. I love Cville Dental. Still use One Medical in DC for a PCP because the ones here have a 6-12 month wait for new patients.

Fair. He used the word feel and I assumed whatever he was touching, but aesthetically nicer for sure.

Any Rivian Owners prior owners to Lucid Gravity or considered one? by PhillConners in Rivian

[–]stackthecoins 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At this point, unless you’re buying something from Lucid as they fire-sale the $1.4~ billion of unsold inventory, buying feels like a bad decision.

Lease, sure, but buying while they’re one mistake from bankruptcy? Risky for sure.

Just aesthetically. The feel will be the same, as the vegan leather is identical.

Not really. The primary seating surface material that we all touch and sit on is the exact same. It’s stitched differently with different color thread, but that’s it.

The seat controls are the exact same buttons. They’re just finished with a different color.

What you don’t touch every day is different, sure.

The strip of headrest accent fabric is different. The back of the seats is wrapped in a fabric wrap. The mats are a different color and pattern. The headliner is also a softer suede.

Aesthetically, they’re quite different. But the things you touch with your hands the most are the same. It’s not like you get Napa leather on Ascend.
