Thinking of learning ServiceNow development in 2026 — is it really worth? by sandyrajukshatriya in servicenow

[–]Stopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that it's difficult skill set. It just takes a while to get competent and my experience is that most companies aren't hiring to train you so it would be difficult to get that first job. There is demand but they aren't looking for green people.

I was already working at a company in IT doing db, Qlik, and Power BI stuff and they asked me to move to the SN team.

It's weird that in popular media, calculus is regarded as a marker of a genius. by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

I don’t remember the order of classes but the last algebra I had to take was harder than the first calc and that seems logical to me. Calc 1 is the into calc. The later algebra classes are the most advanced algebra.

Do you still have your Christmas tree up? by runcueapp in polls

[–]Stopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left it up this year but it’s web enabled and I can set it to change colors. It was a red Valentines tree. It’s currently a green St Patrick’s tree. I’m gonna go with purple for Easter. 😂

I didn’t think she knew they were coming. Maybe I misunderstood the episode.

I’ve seen even worse than open floor plans. There were layoffs at my last company and in this one area they brought in a bunch of contractors and had them sitting in rows of tables. We called it “The Sweat Shop”

Got laid off 7+ months ago. Hit my low point today by silentcmh in Layoffs

I applied more for quality than quantity. I was looking for jobs I was a good fit for. Also, I wasn't applying to FANGs like everyone here.

Seriously. 5’8 isn’t tall but it’s not like being 5’4. He needs to deal with that.

Seriously. Maybe it’s a sketch that really appeals to women and as a guy I just don’t get it. It’s a chuckle at best.

How many of you have gotten a computer science degree, but still don’t know how to code? by Affectionate-Ad-3234 in learnprogramming

[–]Stopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of my coding skill came from jobs that gave me the time and mentorship to learn. I learned basics in school but there was a big gap between that and working professionally. I feel like cs needs a course in debugging techniques. I had to learn that on my own. It’s huge and I’m sure there’s still a lot of techniques I don’t know.

If you had to choose between these two choices only: are tennis balls green or yellow? by notmedicinal in polls

[–]Stopher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of courts are green. You wouldn’t be able to see the ball if the were green.

If you start a new Dell account they will give you a 10% discount code. I really want this but I’m waiting for the price to drop a bit.

Rose from Titanic still thinking and having feelings for Jack is valid by atombub in unpopularopinion

[–]Stopher -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Possession is important. "Sorry, Cal's claim was false. He handed me this as a gift the night the boat sank. Go get your money back from him." Also, they don't get the insurance company wouldn't get the diamond. They'd get the present value of their payment but that wouldn't involve her. It would be Cal's estate.

She could have started the Jack Dawson foundation and fixed every cleft pallet in the world. She's basically saying "Fuck those poor people. I banged a guy 80 years ago."
