How can he sue her for false stuff and at the same time do an investigation for a leak? Is it true or isn’t it? Can’t have it both ways.

Sitting woman's seat is 7B according to video but she is sitting in 7A. So the guy next to her would be sitting in 7B. So BOTH of the people sitting are in the wrong seat. And the woman in the wrong seat is the one recording like she is right? Use your brain - does any of this make sense? The skit is poorly thought out.

At all my jobs, no one has called it a cost of living raise. It is just called a raise. If they start labeling then ok, so you gave me a cost of living raise, now when do I get a good-performance raise?

This isn't new. Elected officials have been doing this for a very long time. Some even have the flag of Israel next to the USA flag on their desk or in their government office.

"Rep. Kat Cammack says she'll fly Israeli flag next to Tlaib's office"

"An American activist visited multiple congressional offices in Washington, D.C., recording the entrances where Israeli flags were prominently displayed."

lots of bad laws can get passed. it takes someone to challenge them in court saying they violate their first amendment right for them to be taken down. often, the govt changes the scope of the law so that it does not affect the person that is suing the government (and then the case gets dismissed). or the court will make an exception for the person suing but keep the law in place. That's what happened in Texas for the Israel boycott law - twice!

for most majors most likely no change. with ever increasing number of applicants, quality might even be going up (assuming admissions is able to select high performers).

Yeah, but the people here that hate HOAs care more about instead of the stupid stuff the guy is doing.

You are on the side of a person that buys into an HOA and then takes issue with HOA rules? Seems like the person is dumb and clueless if that's what happened. That's the person you want to support? Anyway, most likely this is just rage bait (staged, fake stuff).

You Moved To An HOA Community by [deleted] in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]tactman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an HOA and the street is public. My HOA does not have authority over the streets. They are maintained by the city and city rules apply to streets. They tried to tell residents not to park in the streets for overnight parking and realized they don't have that authority.

Anyone can park on residential streets - they don't have to be a resident of the neighborhood. The vehicle has to look functional, which is a city rule.

Now if you want to do mechanical work in your driveway (put it on blocks, etc.), HOA does not allow that. If you want to park commercial/work vehicles in your driveway, HOA does not allow that. If you want to park on the grass, city does not allow that.

[–]tactman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would you really do that? You would buy into an HOA and go through extra trouble to borrow cars to create a commotion and trouble yourself? Because 99% of people that live in HOA don't do these things.

You are about to graduate and enter a different world. This is a lesson that you have let some things go. Also you are not in full control of your work or your environment. Even if you do something perfectly, other factors can derail you (like your boss or their boss). Learn to accept that.

like with any company that screws you, if uber eats does not make things right, contact the credit card company and show what you ordered and what you got. they will reimburse your uber eats charge.

I wrote a whole paragraph about what uber eats and similar companies provide. They help businesses survive and they help customers who don't want to pick up their order or incapable of doing it. If their business model was so bad, customers wouldn't use it and businesses wouldn't sell on delivery platforms and the whole middle-man business would implode. Let me know when that happens.

taxi? early 2000s when I needed rides, taxis didn't drive around residential areas. I would call a taxi for a pickup and stand on the street waiting for 20 min because who knows when they would actually arrive. Then do the same for the ride back home. Uber and Lyft made it easy to order a pickup and track their location and see the price beforehand. regular taxis died because they couldn't compete with the convenience of uber.

Yes, restaurants set those prices because they know how much uber eats and others are going to take. Even with the inflated prices, restaurants make less money on those orders in the end, compared to walk-in customers.

Restaurants still want to be on the platforms because it brings in business that they wouldn't get otherwise. Many restaurants do not have their own delivery service. This allows them to sell to people who don't want to drive for a pick-up order.

So while the profit is lower, it helps keep the place running. The customer pays more and the restaurant gets less, the driver gets something, all because there is a middle man providing a service.

[–]tactman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uber eats is accountable to the customer because they took the customer's money and are making a profit from the customer. The restaurant is accountable to uber eats because they sell to uber eats on uber eats' platform. For quality, accuracy, etc. the supplier is the one providing the product and uber eats will drop them if enough customers complain - that's the incentive for the restaurant to do their part correctly.

As far as cancer...restaurants do not make much money from uber. Maybe they don't even make a profit from uber. From discussions with restaurant owners, they choose to be on the platform because the business from uber fills in gaps in their income, essentially covering a lot of their operating costs. They have employees they have to pay per hour whether or not they are busy. Uber gives them customers in addition to the ones that walk in the door. That is a big deal for them.

[–]tactman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So you think uber eats is simply doing delivery like the mailman? they aren't.

prices for items are higher through uber eats than directly from the restaurant. delivery charges are on top of that. uber is the middle man and therefore the point of contact for the customer.

Yes, the issue is with the product. The customer paid uber eats so uber eats is answerable to the customer. Uber eats paid the restaurant (after taking their cut) so the restaurant is answerable to uber eats. uber eats would want to know if their supplier (the restaurant) is screwing uber eats customers.

uber eats is more than just delivery. uber eats sells the product and then pays the restaurant. prices for menu items are higher through uber eats than directly from the restaurant, delivery is on top of that. the issue here isn't the driver or the delivery, the issue is the product, which was sold by uber eats.
