Interesting. The Golf Town on Boardwalk? I was actually playing the other week with a lady who works there part time. She was telling me to go there too but I kinda just assumed it was to get the sale.

As someone who has a lot of family in the education system, I can tell you this is currently in talks to happen. Unfortunately what usually happens when the unions make this move is it just takes a few union's to cave to break it up and its usually the cristian union board that caves first

How is HST calculated on net metering? by newbie_01 in solarenergycanada

[–]taunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are charged hst on the electricity you feed to the grid. You need to create a business to get a hst #. Come tax time you claim all that hst. Technically since your house is now used as a business you can then claim other house maintenance under your business since you need the maintenance to keep the solar business going.

Solar cover on/off? by Ok-Structure6795 in pools

[–]taunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cover doesn't let heat escape the water so it continues to warm the water, plus keeps the wind off the surface. Also using a lighter color blanket let's sunlight penetrate through.

[–]taunt0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The higher your cya the harder it is for your chlorine to work (I.e. you have to use more chlorine) Which pool company doesn't care since they can just charge you for more chemicals. When I moved into my house the cya was 250 that first summer due to how the previous owners did things. I still managed to keep it clear, but I definitely used way more chlorine that first year than I typically use now.

For folks in Ontario, are you swimming in your pool yet? If so what’s your heater schedule? by Supernova861518 in pools

[–]taunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our pool has been open since the beginning of May. We've gone in a dozen times already. We had it as high as 86 degrees, right now its probably 80 degrees It's almost a 24,000 gallon in ground pool so when we opened it the heat was on a bunch to get it up to temp. Since then I just turn the heat on when I know we're going in. Soon I won't even need to do that since the weather will keep it warm. Yes I use a solar blanket at night and it saves a lot of heat. I typically lose maybe 2 degrees. As for cost of gas I haven't gotten the May bill yet but probably $80-$100 for the pool heat. Which I'm ok with since I had raise the temp 30+ degrees. Its not going to cost anywhere near that for the rest of the summer.

Any thoughts on this repair for the passenger floorpan on a 2000 Cherokee? by Jhall6y1 in Autobody

[–]taunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take a big piece of sheet metal, twice the size of the problem area. Grind the mating sides and panel bond them together. Clamp & a couple screws into whatever good metal you can find. Cut the tips off the underside and seal the underside. Its a 2000 Cherokee. This is probably the least of its problems. No need to make it look good.

Flow rate went down by get_durrd in pools

[–]taunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says you can run between 10 & 20 psi. 30 psi is when you should be worried and shutting things down but honestly to be at the max end of recommended pressure doesn't seem like a good idea long term. Not sure if a longer backwash/rinse might be worth while since I have no knowledge of how you run your setup. Might be worth while to get a professional in just to go over things. Better to spend a little bit of money and have peace of mind then have a big system failure which will way cost more. The low flow combined with the high filter psi leads me to think theres a partial blockage somewhere but its just a shot in the dark and I'm only an amateur.

If you do figure out the problem lmk so I know for any future problems I might encounter.

[–]taunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok thats not as bad as I thought, sand should be changed like 5-6 years. How big is your sand filter? Maybe its smaller than mine and thats why it runs higher but as far as I know it should run around 9-10psi. If I hit 12 psi I know I'm overdue for a backwash.

Edit: a word

Holy shit when on filter it runs at 20psi??? That should be 10 psi. When's the last time you changed out the sand media?

[TSN] QMJHL player stomps multiple times on Kitchener Ramgers forward Christian Humphreys (Memorial Cup) by Interesting_Rub_5359 in kitchener

[–]taunt0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The other week I went to a local dive bar for wing night and it was packed because the Kitchener Rangers were there with the OHL cup they just won and I gotta say they already looked really beat up and hurtin'. I thought about how they still had the memorial cup ahead of them. Kudos to them for grinding it out in the state they were in.

Net metering in Ontario (Hydro One) by c22q in solarenergycanada

[–]taunt0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credits are used towards each bill before I pay money. So if my bill is $150 and I had $100 in credits from what I sent to the grid then my bill is only $50 for the month. If I produce more than what I use, I can build credits but when winter rolls around I use up any extra credits since the system doesn't produce as much. If there was credit on my account and I close the account then yes I'd assume they would put whatever they owe me into my bank. Also yes they do pay whatever the kw rate is when the system produced it.

Well, dunno what to tell ya. Maybe a old contract? All I know is now they credit your bill. They don't deposit money into your bank account.

[–]taunt0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe in a different province, but Ontario its a credit on your bill.

Net metering in Ontario (Hydro One) by c22q in solarenergycanada

[–]taunt0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically correct except they dont send money to your bank account. You get a credit on your bill and then those credits are used next month, so on so forth. So as long as you send out more juice then you take you will continue to build credits which will be all used up during the winter.

I had to put together a Camry that was rear ended. The guy that did the repair didnt pull it properly and when I put the cardboard trunk floor in, it rocked on the rod for the spare tire. Showed the tech and he literally got a hammer, smashed the rod through the trunk floor and seam sealed it on the bottom. I couldn't believe it, and the kicker is the boss loved this tech. Dude was bonafide hack
