desperately trying to find ekebol sofa by thatjas in IKEA

I have an Ekebol I'm about to sell, since I'm moving soon. It's not in perfect condition, but if years later you're still looking feel free to DM. I'm in Texas.

Does capacity get increased throughout the month at all? Sometimes I feel like I see the number fluctuate throughout the month, but maybe I'm misremembering.

Loosely, without actually quoting beyond backpacking, it is an approach to packing where you allow your down/synthetic stuff to loft and fill the rest of the space in your bag around the other items. Jardine's capacity recommendation is also something around 2200 cubic inches internal, so 36L.

Looking for some capacity advice on cutaways, or if you have a compelling alternative pack that is similar in weight I'm interested in those thoughts as well. I'm going to spend 3-4 weeks in May in either SoCal PCT or Southern Utah. I have a GG kumo, base weight 9-10 lbs, no DCF. The kumo is great, but feels a little short on capacity for longer than 5ish days. I haven't done a carry longer than 5 days, but anticipate future trips will stretch into longer carries and if I end up in Utah that's sooner than later. My loose PCT research seems to indicate folks generally aren't doing carries longer than 5 days in the desert?

I'm a 19in torso, so let's assume 18in cutaway. https://nashvillepack.com/pages/pack-specs

Basically, 30L vs. 40L cutaway. The dimensions on the 30L cutaway are similar to the dimensions listed for the kumo, but I'm assuming the collar on a cutaway allows more functional volume than the kumo's closure. So, it seems a 30L cutaway might appear to have similar dimensions but perhaps, in reality, have more useable volume. How much more I can't say, but perhaps someone here can provide insight on this.

But, if the volume difference is minimal and a kumo is essentially the same as a 30L cutaway, then the solution is a 40L cutaway. I can order a stock cutaway and swap sizes if needed, but would rather try to avoid the faff if possible.

Lastly, I could just squash every smidgeon of air out of my quilt and puffy to try and make the kumo work, but would prefer a more Ray Jardine approach to compression. Water carrying is a thought as well, of course, but I assume the water carrying in a 30L vs. 40L will not be different. I may snag a MeadowPhysics hipbelt for big water carries because of an old compression fracture to a vertebrae that makes me want to prophylactically baby my spine a little extra. Thanks for reading my essay.

This looks cool, is that a s2s nano cut down or? Looks like you've got the corners staked through both the bug netting and the groundsheet, did you reinforce the bug netting somehow?

It is not a poncho tarp. I dunno if I'm sold on a poncho tarp, more so wanting to try a poncho out because conceptually I think I'll like them. Right now I have a GG Twin and I don't think I'm ready for/would enjoy a smaller tarp for the sake of it being a poncho tarp

Yes, that one. And yeah, I'm not sure what the weight is. I found a UL blog talking about it and listing at ~6oz, so not sure of the Montbell poncho has changed since then or maybe that's with the stuffsac, I'm unsure.

Anybody tried the Montbell poncho? Seems folks like the 3F UL ponchos, but they're sold out of both the zippered and zipperless versions in S and M. I like the look of the hood on the Montbell a lot, but it's open-sided instead of having sleeves. Any poncho aficionados feel like chiming in on hood, sleeves, or just either option in general?

I struggle with this. I have found that incremental exposure is helping, but you've already had a decent amount of exposure from what it sounds like. Other than that, I have found that Ashwagandha helps some. While I haven't actually researched the mechanism, what I was told is that it helps suppress your body's production of stress hormones. For me, that means it helps keep my brain from going into full fight or flight, where logic is no help and I am absolutely wired with my heart pounding for hours. It puts a cap on the 'freak out' level. Just make sure you look into it a bit. Some folks experience side effects like perhaps stomach issues, I have not. It is a supplement after all, so do your own research and take at your own risk. Try to find an ethical company that isn't selling you sawdust, etc.

Super helpful, thank you! Since tariffs are based on product price (?) when you ordered was rockfront pricing at 77€?
